While social media captures over 2 hours of consumer time per day, it commands a significantly larger share of advertising spend—$65 billion in 2023 in the United States, compared to $7 billion for digital audio. However, this imbalance is set to shift. In The Trade Desk’s latest annual Sellers and Publishers report, 2024 is expected to be the year digital audio is set for takeoff. As more advertisers recognize the value of highly engaged digital audio consumers, #TTD expects a surge in investment within this dynamic and impactful medium.
