Allow me a moment of transparency and encouragement 👇🏾 I have countless stories of people trying to block me from accessing opportunities, asking themselves, "Why should Dana have access to certain people, spaces, or stages?" It's quite sad that some people have not yet realized an open secret: "There is enough room for all of us." I learned a while ago that "success is built in community." Therefore, I choose to lead myself by the following principles: ✨ I know that what God has for me is for me; no one can block it. ✨ When I can help someone, I will. ✨ If I can pass on an opportunity to someone, I will. ✨ As I have been blessed, I choose to be a blessing to others. Feel like giving up? Are you being pushed and pulled from all the desires you or others have? How are we supposed to compete in a world where distraction follows intention? Where loss often trumps our legacy? When life flattens us with distractions, persecutions and half truths? We must maintain hope. The overall belief that If you input this action you will sow a better reaction. You may need to change your environment if your environment makes you weak... Especially if you were trained to seek comfort in this environment. This is why people want to work while traveling because the stimulus is always challenging us to do and become more. Look at variety as a gift. Look at community as a gift. Yet know why communities must change. You are no longer being fed by their paradigms and beliefs. So change your environment, your community and your friends. You only live your life as you in that specific vessel once. Make the best out of it AND retain your Values. This is important. You must not compromise your good actions and intentions. Remain steadfast. Remain Strong. Remain determined. Remain creative. Remain KIND. Win. What is your definition of success? To me, success goes beyond acquiring wealth, skills, titles, degrees, spouses, and holding influential positions. Being successful, is measured by the positive impact you create in people with your wealth, skills, and the list goes on. To be successful, you have to emulate the values below, and make it become a part of you. *Loyalty *Honesty *Commitment *Hardwork *Perseverance *Community building There's a lot, you can add yours too. What EXACTLY do you want? During church service on Sunday, my pastor while teaching, made an example of the blind beggar who called out to Jesus for help. When Jesus asked what he wanted, the blind man responded that he needed to be able to SEE. The Blind man didn't just say, "Oh I need help" or "Just help me" or "you know my needs" NO. He said, "that I may SEE". Now on the other side, is the example of the leper at the pool of Bethesda whom has been there for 38 years but when Jesus asked him "Do you want to get well?", His reply was “Sir, when the water is stirred, I don’t have anybody to put me in the pool. By the time I get there, somebody else is already in.” John 5:7 The difference between these 2 people is that one knew what exactly he needed to be whole and he CLEARLY COMMUNICATED IT While the other even though he needed healing, he had a Communication problem. This brings me to my point. Most of the time, I do hear people say I want to MAKE IT, I WANT TO BLOW, I WANT TO ……. the list goes on Well it's a good thing that you have the desire to be Great. But I still want to ask you, What EXACTLY do you want to be great at? What SPECIFIC steps are you taking to get there? When the opportunity presents itself, can you Identify it and seize it? Well, although Jesus was merciful and he healed the leper, But do you know how long it took the leper at the same spot? It's a lot of time. And Time is what you don't have. So the point I've been trying to pass across is this: Always define what EXACTLY it is you want and then LEARN how to clearly COMMUNICATE it. ✓ This will help you to easily Identify opportunities just as the blind man ✓ This will make it easier for anyone to help you because they know what you need. ✓ This helps you save time ✓ Having clear expectations gives you a sense of direction ✓ Being more specific makes you more Intentional about your pursuits. A letter to my younger self 💖 I see the light inside of you that burns so bright even if you cannot see it….. A light of desire to not be defined by the circumstances you have been through and be a victim of the challenges you have overcome. A light of desire to not be defined by the times where you have succeeded and the times where you have failed and felt you have been less than perfect. The times where you have done things you aren’t proud of and wish you could turn back time. The times you wanted to finally be free of the burdens and resistance within and finally have that peace. I see the desire to be so much more than who you are and to deeply trust and to know who you are. I see the desire to create & decide what the next part of your journey looks like as you knew there was a deeper calling and meaning for you. The times where you were afraid of changing your life and did it anyway…. I see you…. And I want to share with you…. Im so grateful for you….. Im so grateful for you never giving up even when it got hard. Im so grateful that you kept searching for the light even when there was darkness. Im so grateful for you believing in something even when you didn’t know what…. Your heart is beautiful and the way you are going to be able to guide others is inspiring…… All those parts within that you feel are missing.. just havent been created and are yet to be discovered, and they are absolutely wonderful 💫 You have a gift and these challenges are creating and magnifying these gifts within you…… They are shaping you into the beautiful soul that you are. In the journey of life and work, obstacles are inevitable. But it’s how we respond to those obstacles that really define us. For me, holding on to hope has been unthinkable. Throughout my career I have faced many challenges – projects that didn’t go as - planned - rejections moments of doubt But through it all, I held onto hope like a lifeline. why? Because I have personally experienced the transformative power of patience. When we refuse to lose hope, we open ourselves up to new possibilities. In the face of failure, we become resilient and find the strength to pick ourselves up and try again. And it is often those moments of perseverance that lead to our greatest triumphs. So to anyone who is discouraged or facing setbacks, remember this: you are stronger than you think, and it is worth fighting for your dreams. Why do many lose great opportunities? Sometimes, it's because we ignore or unkindly treat people who don't seem important— people we think we can't get anything from.
