Hello Everyone, Wrote this relatively short blog about LFI in C#, the intent is to act as a teaching source and a quick reference guide. Thanks to Jack G. and Riki Blok for helping me review the final version of the blog. Smart pointers - one of the best things about modern C++ (C++11 and beyond) is the ability to automate resource management so that we don't even have to write 'new' or 'delete' anywhere in our code! Arthur gives a nice introduction to the set of smart pointers - shared, unique and weak pointers. I liked the ability to generate shared pointers from within the allocated object itself using weak_ptr in particular. It's a well thought of cool feature.

What are some workarounds that you have used to cut down test times? I was recently inspired by Charles Frasch's CppCon 2023 talk about SPSC FIFO optimizations and decided to implement my own. I started by implementating a basic circular queue (non-thread safe) and adding some test cases. I realized testing the overflow portion of my queue indexes (uint32_t) was going to take 9 mins! To work around this, I changed the indexes from private to protected and used a derived test class to allow you to manually set them. This allowed me to cut my test time down to 1ms without breaking encapsulation while still using all of the base class's functionality. TOML2Pbf is a free (MIT License) utility that converts configuration files from the TOML (Tom's Obvious, Minimal Language) format to the Parameters Binary File (PBF) format.
