Today, after 5 years, my position at Microsoft was eliminated. It is with a heavy heart that I leave this place I've called home. I've had the privilege of working with incredibly talented individuals and serving some of the top fortune 500 companies. My time at Microsoft will always hold a special place in my heart. If you are hiring or know someone who is, please let me know as I am eager to start my job search. #Microsoft #Grateful #NewBeginnings
Hi David, saw your post through Jeff's reposting. Sorry to hear of the org change for you, it sounds like you were potent member of the team there. Please feel free to check out this Cloud Architecture position with Eaton. We have cloud first initiative and an ever-growing relationship with Microsoft in the Azure space as well as many Microsoft platforms. I am sure you would be an amazing candidate for a position like this. https://www.linkedin.com/posts/don-welker-84111a5_cloud-platform-engineer-careers-at-eaton-activity-7217253624727437312-CVbC?utm_source=share&utm_medium=member_desktop
It's a difficult situation to be in... I'm right here with you. Be sure you spend some time every day networking / putting your name out there / updating your CV, etc. AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, spend time every day enjoying your summer and your family. Stressing over joblessness won't change your situation, so take advantage of the downtime to enjoy, recharge, refocus, and even pivot into a different direction. When you look back on this time in your life, you can think "it was the best summer ever" or you can regret the amount of quality time you missed. Chose well my friend!
Hi David sorry to hear this. You could try looking for govt and govt contracting jobs. Govt tends to hire during periods of layoffs and recession. And they generally offer better benefits, work-life balance, and job stability than the private sector. Good luck!
Dave, you're talented and smart. You'll find a better position soon.
Sorry about the news brother… a better job is around the corner
Wish you success in your journey
It was a pleasure working with you David. Your technical skills and hard work ethic are going to be sorely missed!
Good luck David.
So sorry to hear this- 100% their loss! You are a technical genius and and going to get something much better!
