Helping Accounting Firms Scale with Workflow Software 🎤 Host of Growing Your Firm Podcast 🏗️ CEO & Founder at Jetpack Workflow

Need to "sell off" tax clients as you switch your ideal client? Shannon Weinstein, CPA knew she needed to shift her business model away from churn and burn tax returns. She had 80 clients that didn't fit her new profile for CFO advisory 🤔 Most owners might sell the list or write a break up letter 🙅♀️ 🙅♂️ Shannon took it one step further .... 👉 Interviewed 4 qualified firm owners that still did take work 👉 Asked them for a small write up, video, or audio clip 👉 Sent the 'break up' letter with her top recommendations (that were listed as a 'postcard' in her letter) Shannon didn't *need* to do this, but in doing so, she still gets referrals from these clients to her new CFO advisory practice ✅ 💰 ✅ Take a look below! ⏬ ⏬ ⏬ (NOTE: This came after our official interview. I couldn't help but hit record to grab this takeaway!) Reminds me of when Jackie Meyer, CPA, CCA, Doctoral Candidate shifted her ideal client as well as Trina Rozen, CPA, CFE was the recipient of many clients firms didn't want to serve anymore. This is excellent advice. Prior employees and clients are great referral sources and should be treated respectfully.

Always play the long game. If you don’t want your clients to commoditize you, don’t commoditize them either.
