Little life update: I’m very excited to share that I have begun my new job as Account Manager at Capelli Sport! Playing soccer abroad for the last year has taught me so much about myself, life, and the power of sports and I’m excited to continue making an impact from the business side. Here’s to the next chapter!

☔️⚽️ Creating Result Resilient Match Day Products ☔️⚽️ “Of course we’re selling fewer X, the team isn’t winning” - how often do we hear this explanation for dwindling commercial revenue? And there is legitimacy to this point of view, watching a losing team is of course a harder sell than watching a winning team. But if you work on the business side, you can’t influence that. A key mantra of mine is to control the controllables! Despite my team sitting bottom of the table (something which comes to everyone at some point working in sport!) our recent hospitality package yesterday was a fourth sell-out in a row! (It only sold out a handful of times across the whole of last season). This season I took control of the package: improving the feel of the product, adding features such as player talks and table service, and really pushed on the marketing of it. Working for a winning team is for sure easier, but when your team is in a tough moment that’s when you really need to ensure your products are everything you want them to be. I’d love to hear of things others have achieved whilst working for teams struggling on the pitch!

Today, we announced strong growth in the first quarter of 2024 and for the financial year 2023. Revenue in the fourth quarter of 2023 increased 22% compared with the fourth quarter of 2022 and revenue for the full year of 2023 increased 20% compared with the prior year. Carsten Koerl, Chief Executive Officer of Sportradar, said: “2023 was another dynamic and successful year for the Company delivering our 3rd consecutive year of more than 20% revenue growth, improved profitability, and margin expansion.
