I help medical sales professionals to sell more to HCPs / stakeholders & retain business without making costly mistakes. ▶︎1-on-1 & group Medical Sales Coaching ▶︎Medical Sales Workshops ▶︎Medical Sales eCourses
You're a medical rep. You're up and in the car while it's still dark on your way to your first account of the day. Ten and twelve hour days are the norm for many. Without doubt, you work hard. But do you work smart? I know... smart has become a cliched term over the years that's easy to ignore. Every rep thinks they work smart. I did. Until I realized I didn't. I was grinding. Covering cases. Making sales calls. Setting up cases. Hitting FedEx and UPS and zero dark thirty just about every day. The not-smart part was for many years, I used a canned sales presentation. Yup! I gave the same pitch for each product to every prospect. Dumb! Dumb! Dumb! Why dumb? Because every prospect is different. EVERY. ONE. Things changed when I learned that instead of talking about the dozen features and benefits of my product, I only needed to talk about one. ONE. Which one? (thanks for asking) The one the prospect cares most about. The results of this approach are dramatically different. It begins a conversation that continues until the prospect says yes. Sometimes it's a very short conversation; other times it can take months. But the quality of the interaction and the eventual outcomes are dramatically improved. I've spent the last twenty years teaching medical sales professionals how to have focused conversations that move the sales process forward. The shift happens quickly. In a live workshop setting, it takes place in a day or day and a half. Through my virtual training class Medical Sales Academy, it can happen in a few weeks, depending on how much time the student commits. If you want to discuss how I could help you or your sales team to sell more and retain business without making costly mistakes, let's get on a quick phone call. At the very least, you're likely to think differently about how you or your sales team can work smarter in terms of how they engage prospects and customers. That's a pretty good ROI for a short phone call. PM me to set-up a call or visit the website in my bio. #MedicalSales #HealthcareSales #MedTech #PharmaSales #Hospital Sales

One of the things I loved about medical device sales was that it was like having my own business in that I had a bag of products to sell and no one told me how to sell it, as long as I did it ethically and within the confines of compliance. When you have your own business, you invest in it. Not just in terms of time and equipment, but also in improving your knowledge and systems. Many reps say they like the independence and want the independence, yet most won't invest a penny in programs and trainings for professional development. They've adopted the attitude, "If my company thinks I need training, they'll provide it." Maybe this is you; maybe not. Your answer to the question, "How much money have you spent on personal development in the last year?" says it all. I've been doing medical sales training workshops and keynotes since 2005. For several years, I received requests asking if I had any training for small distributors and individuals who didn't have a budget for live training. For years I said no. When I created Medical Sales Academy, my online training course about six years later, I developed relationships with students that I've maintained until this day. Many have gone on to amazing achievements in sales and have moved into sales leadership. Please understand, I'm NOT saying it's my training that enabled this to happen. Yes, it helped, but to a much larger extent, it was the professional attitudes of those who invested. They wanted more and were smart enough to shortcut the timeline to get there and were mentally committed to do whatever was required. But for most med tech reps, it's just a job and they treat it as such. Med tech sales can be a worthwhile career or it can just be a job. You get to decide. #MedicalSales #HealthcareSales #MedTech #PharmaSales #Hospital Sales
