Today was a big day for Upstart in D.C., with visits to U.S. Department of the Treasury, The White House, and Office of the Comptroller of the Currency. The takeaways: - Helping #MDIs increase opportunities for underserved communities remains a top priority in Washington. - There is optimism that, with safeguards, #AI can be harnessed effectively to expand #accesstocredit. - With #CommunityReinvestmentAct reform and regulatory support for Special Purpose Credit Programs, #banks have fresh incentives to review their lending metrics for #fairness and #inclusion, and to work to improve the status quo. Tomorrow, we’re attending the Economic Opportunity Coalition’s In-Person Working Sessions.
