Using scribes can alleviate administrative burdens, reduce stress, and allow physicians to focus more on patient care.👍 This reduction in administrative burden allows physicians to focus more on patient care and less on paperwork, significantly contributing to burnout. The University of Wisconsin Health study revealed a remarkable finding-the use of scribes led to a reduction in EHR documentation time by up to 66 minutes (or over one hour) for every eight hours scheduled with patients. This also resulted in a decrease of over 30 minutes spent outside of the scheduled workday, offering a promising improvement in physicians' work-life balance. ☑️ #MedicalScribes #DataMatrixMedical #PhysicianBurnout

"Burnout Related to Electronic Health Record Use in Primary Care" Super article by Dr. Jeffrey Budd, MD, Department of Medicine, UF Health Internal Medicine. Talking with #providers every day, #physicianburnout is rapidly increasing and the wellbeing of #providers must be front and center for #healthcareadministration. When #physicians are taking work home and charting into the night, these stressors go beyond the physician and extend into the provider's family members. With a great deal of confidence (and metrics), I can say that #physicians being teamed with a #ScribeEMR #MedicalScribe report vastly improved provider well-being, work/life balance, a stronger sense of professional satisfaction and a return to the joy of practicing medicine. https://lnkd.in/dgjxNcbq

November is just around the corner! Here's today's presentation highlight from the upcoming 5th Edition Healthcare Burnout Symposium in NYC, Nov 1-3. Learn more: https://hubs.li/Q02286Sg0. The COVID-19 pandemic precipitated a transition to virtual care, especially synchronous audio-visual visits with clinicians. It has improved access to care, quality metrics, cost efficiency, and patient satisfaction. It has also improved clinician satisfaction, work-life balance, and has expanded career options for clinicians with situational limitations or considering retirement. Therefore, the question should be posed: Is #telemedicine the answer to #healthcareburnout? In his presentation, Russell Libby, MD of the The Physicians Foundation will discuss: + how physicians have continued to care for patients and improved access and outcomes, reduced costs, and enhanced patient and clinician satisfaction + how integrating virtual care into practice has enhanced clinician well-being and practice success and sustainability + recap what we have learned and how we anticipate evolutions in virtual care and the clinician workforce Learn more and register: https://hubs.li/Q02286Sg0 #healthcare #healthcaretransformation #burnout #healthcareburnout #telemedicine #digitalhealth #wellbeing #doctorburnout #nurseburnout #virtualcare #clinician #valuebasedcare

In the United States, physician well-being is under threat as doctors grapple with unprecedented levels of stress and burnout. This alarming trend is causing many to abandon their profession, close their practices, and unfortunately, compromise patient care. A significant contributor to physician burnout is the overwhelming paperwork. Tasks like filling out charts, documenting visits, and ordering tests steal precious time that could be spent with loved ones. Here’s How to Manage It: 1. Leverage Technology: Use scribes or dictation software to streamline charting. 2. Empower Your Team: Train your staff to assist with documentation. 3. Go Digital: Keep everything digital to avoid delays and reduce workload. Let’s reclaim our time and focus on what truly matters! Healthcare systems around the world are suffering from a workforce crisis, as attracting and retaining staff remains one of the industry’s greatest challenges. The size of the shortage? It is estimated that by 2030, approximately 18 million healthcare workers – equal to 20% of the workforce – will be needed to keep healthcare systems going¹. What’s contributing to this deficit? The challenging mental and physical work environment in healthcare puts a heavy strain on care staff, leading to injuries, burnout, and greater difficulty in attracting new people to the profession. But it doesn’t have to be like that. Protecting the health and safety of care workers and creating an environment that supports the prevention of caregiver injuries contributes to improving not only productivity, but also overall job satisfaction, retention of health workers, quality of care and overall driving healthier outcomes. To learn more about improving the work environment in healthcare and preventing caregiver injuries, read our clinical evidence summary on patient handling and mobility solutions. This is why we do what we do at symplr. 93% of doctors are burnt out. Over half of them are ready to leave the profession. Why? For one, physicians report working "an average of 15 hours per week outside their regular workday" on administrative tasks like patient messaging and record keeping. This goes far beyond "unsustainability", this is catastrophic. At symplr, we know that better operations can transform healthcare systems from the inside out. And now more than ever, we need solutions that can help staff focus on giving the highest level of care - without running themselves ragged. #HealthcareOperations #Burnout #FutureOfHealthcare
