🚀 To my deeptech friends 🚀 I'm thrilled to be a juror during the Intel Ignite startup selection days and get to learn about some great pre-selected startups. 🔍 Why Deep Tech? The reason we aim to invest more in deep tech is straightforward: its potential to catalyze significant societal and economic transformations is immense. Deep tech is not just about the next big thing; it's about ensuring a sustainable and impactful future. Deep tech really is the bedrock of future breakthroughs that promise to tackle some of humanity's most pressing challenges. If you look at fields like AI, Quantum, Space, Robotics etc., these fields are redefining the boundaries of what's possible and they are progressing much faster than I anticipated a couple of years ago. 🌟 Intel Ignite Intel Ignite stands out as a beacon of support for startups navigating the journey of bringing deep tech innovations to market. I am glad to see Intel showing their depth of commitment to deep tech. #DeepTech #Innovation #IntelIgnite #Startups #Technology

I have been lucky enough to work with people like Tzahi (Zack) Weisfeld and learn from him while at Microsoft. I loved this article, and in particular, I thought this piece was insightful: "We differentiate ourselves by taking on what we call deep tech startups. What is #deeptech? Deep tech is pretty broad, but clearly, hardware silicon is deep tech, computational biology is interesting, #quantum computing is interesting, but also, when we look at Gen AI, #LLM, we are looking at, first, infrastructure companies − companies that accelerate models, that enable #AutoML, do stuff that is infrastructure for #generativeai."

President at SBT | 18 years of advising leaders in the semiconductor industry and architecting teams from startups to F500 companies
Here’s Why Condor Computing Corporation made our Top 13 AI/ML startups to watch Q4 update Ty Garibay has built and led teams for giants such as TI and Altera, as well as fast-growing startups like SGI, Cyrix and, Mythic. Like many startup leaders, Ty knows the impact that recruiting the best talent plays on the company’s success and it's something he's faced many times in his lengthy career. However, in today’s rapidly evolving semiconductor landscape, with its constantly shifting perspectives about what makes for an exciting venture, attracting the best talent - especially those who are not actively seeking new opportunities - has become increasingly challenging. It can feel like David against Goliath to go up against giants like NVIDIA and AMD. It's even difficult to compete against other emerging startups with their exciting missions. But Ty’s decades of experience as an architect of chips and an architect of teams serves him well with regards to talent attraction. Just like he had the vision early in Condor’s formation that the open-source RISC-V ISA should underpin the development of their CPU technology, he had the vision that Condor could grow as an organization by fostering a culture of openness and transparency. Ty shared more about this insight during a one-on-one conversation we had before the RISC-V Summit, where he explained, The number one recommendation I have for anyone who wants to be a leader - even if they're not a manager, maybe they just want to be a tech leader or an influencer - is to know thyself and be aware of the impact that you have on people.” He added depth by offering a humble anecdote, “If you don't, you do what I did in early in my career, and you kind of blunder around and show off who you are and how much you know and you know and that gets you so far. It doesn't get people to want to work with you for you or follow you.” Why such an emphasis on openness? Employees today want more than just directives from above; they crave leaders who are transparent and unafraid to be vulnerable. Authenticity from leadership breeds trust, and fosters deeper connections and a collective commitment towards shared goals. This approach has enabled Ty and his Head of Talent Acquisition Justin Hopper to attract a capable core team through their reputations, use of word of mouth, and gaining referrals from networks. Ultimately, discerning talent wants more than a job; they seek a meaningful connection with leadership and the opportunity to do something that’s going to make an impact on the world. Developing the highest-performing CPUs on the planet leveraging RISC-V will certainly make an impact, in terms of democratizing other technologies such as AI/ML, yet the only way to achieve it will be through a team that works tirelessly with a clear focus until the goal is reached, and I believe Condor has this recipe for organizational growth dialed in just right. #ai #riscv #semiconductorindustry
