The first few years of a child’s life are a critical time of cognitive, emotional and physical development. Early active movement and environmental exploration drive development through the building of cortical connections and physical adaptation in response to the movement. For more information about the importance of adaptive standing in early intervention for children with CP, and how providing an adaptive stander such as the new Rifton Equipment Stander to young children with cerebral palsy is one such early intervention that is strongly recommended, please click here: https://lnkd.in/euF6tda8

🚑 The Importance of ERCES – Emergency Responder Communication Enhancement Systems 🚒 Effective communication is critical during emergencies, especially for first responders who must navigate complex and unpredictable environments. Emergency Responder Communication Enhancement Systems (ERCES) play a vital role in ensuring seamless communication. ERCES are systems designed to enhance radio communication for emergency responders within buildings and other challenging environments. These systems amplify and distribute radio signals to ensure reliable communication where it might otherwise be weak or obstructed. 🔗 Learn More Here: https://lnkd.in/e9Y5nt4j #DAS #ERCES #ERRCS #PublicSafety

Screen Time Balance: Protecting Eyes and Well-Being With increasing reliance on digital devices for learning, it's important to establish healthy screen time limits. Encourage breaks to reduce eye strain and promote physical activity. Managing a child’s screen time can be challenging for families. Your child is never too young for a screen-time plan. Consider the following as a guideline: 1. Until 2 years of age, screen time is not recommended, aside from video chatting with caring adults (ex. video calls with someone who lives out of town). 2. For children 2 to 5 years old, limit sedentary screen time to about 1 hour per day. 3. For ages 6 and older, encourage healthy habits and limit activities that include screens. 4. Learn about and use parental controls. 5. Maintain daily screen-free times. 6. Avoid using screens as pacifiers, babysitters, or to stop tantrums. 7. Turn off screens and remove them from bedrooms 30-60 minutes before bedtime. Click below to learn more! https://lnkd.in/gXnwK3K6 #digitallearning #physicalactivity #technology #healthyhabits

🤔Is your child reading below grade level or has attention difficulties? 🧐Your child may have an eye condition like hyperopia. 👁️Hyperopia often goes unnoticed in children as their eyes naturally compensate for it. In cases of mild hyperopia, children's vision typically improves as their eyes grow. By around 8 years old, ocular development is usually complete. If farsightedness isn't corrected by this age, the vision impairment can become permanent. 👀Thus, the ages between 3 and 8 are critical for detecting vision issues in children. Regular eye exams during this period can identify hyperopia early on. Corrective glasses can then be prescribed to ease eye strain and support healthy ocular development. 💁🏻♂️⏱️🔍The Vigour360 School Health Program offers advanced eye exams in schools, ensuring that vision problems are detected early, and preventing them from impacting children's academic performance and daily lives. Kids of all ages can use regular eye exams! Regular and early eye exams are crucial for children to monitor vision and overall eye health. The first comprehensive exam is recommended at around 6 months, with follow-ups at ages 3 and before starting school. Subsequently, school-aged children should have exams every 1-2 years. Parents should be vigilant about signs of potential vision problems and discuss screen time habits. Eye exams assess not only visual acuity but also coordination and focusing skills. Special considerations apply to children with family history or medical conditions. Addressing vision issues early can positively impact a child's academic success. Eye care professionals are trained to make exams comfortable for children, and proactive parental involvement is essential in supporting a child's visual health.
