Just wanted to tell y'all about my experience at the JSOM career expo that took place on September 6, 2023. This was my first time at a UTD career fair and there are a few tips/ advice to take away from this experience. In total, about 50 companies ranging from small accounting firms to large corporations such as Southwest was there. About 1,200 students attended the event. Upon arrival, I was not expecting an extremely long line; students formed a loop within the lobby of the Alumni Hall. You are asked to check in and then provided a name tag. Once inside the hall, be prepared to speak loud as there will be lots of noise. Of course, the larger the company, the larger the line will be. Just prepare your elevator pitch mentally and make sure to know exactly why you are there and what positions the companies have beforehand. Overall, it was a positive experience, I spoke to Keurig Dr. Pepper, Austin Industries, 711, Blackstone, and a few smaller companies as well. This goes to show that in the business world, you must be prepared as there is a lot of competition so what should the recruiters remember you out of everyone else? Proper attire and an engaging conversation displaying your skills go a long way. I learned a lot from the event.

Registration for the Center for Supply Chain Excellence at Miami University Fall Supply Chain Roundtable ends Friday, August 11th! The Fall Supply Chain Roundtable is the BIGGEST event the center does every year, and is the primary way it helps facilitate companies meeting with our students in the early fall for recruiting and networking. There simply isn't enough class time to have everyone speak in classes in September that wants to get in front of our amazing #supplychain & #operationsmanagement students, so we created the Fall Supply Chain Roundtable to facilitate those interactions! The Fall Supply Chain Roundtable is not a career fair, but more like a mini-conference, just for our students and the companies that want to recruit #supplychain & #operationsmanagement students from the Miami University Farmer School of Business. There are speaker panels to allow students to be exposed to issues in the industry and hear from some of our #corporatepartners and #alumni, and of course, there is also plenty of networking time! Corporate Partners and #sponsor companies get extra perks, including a special networking reception and the opportunity to have a table (like at a career fair) to give you more visibility. Last year we had 150 students in attendance and 70 managers from 30 different companies, and we anticipate it being even bigger this year, so don't miss out! With the expansion to LTA Baltimore, team LTA has been pounding the pavement to make sure that everyone in Baltimore understands what the LTA is, and why it is such a great opportunity! Yesterday, we attended a career fair with Baltimore County Public Schools to raise awareness of property management careers with graduating seniors. This year alone we have attended numerous career fairs, spoke at different events and groups with one goal in mind………Promoting Property Management careers. Although National Apartment Association (Naahq) RPM career week may be over, the LTA is dedicated to promoting apartment careers all day, everyday as we truly believe that property management can be a life changing experience.
