Today’s ‘this is so weird’ technology post. 🤖Digital afterlife bots. Where you can talk to your deceased loved one through tech like a VR system or a hologram. “From artificial intelligence (AI) chatbots and virtual avatars to holograms, this technology offers a strange blend of comfort and disruption. It may pull us into deeply personal experiences that blur the lines between past and present, memory and reality.” I personally always apply the presumption of leaning in to technology ideas and opportunities. Tech gives us better control over our time and time is our most precious commodity. There’s so many great ideas of how we can utilise tech to better utilise our business resources and time capacity, with an expectation of higher enjoyment in our career, an equipped and efficient workforce and resulting in more personal time, more family time and better mental health. However, I personally believe this idea has way too many ethical issues. Our minds have been built over time to apply evolutionary processes for dealing with love and loss. I feel like keeping loved ones alive in our mind would disrupt the natural grieving process, barring us from moving on and potentially cause psychological harm to people.
