So simple and yet so true. I need to remind myself often the importance of clarity in my communication; this is especially true if I’m setting an expectation of someone else. I don’t work with mind readers. 😂 I need to clearly state what I’m thinking.

This is one of my very favorite quotes about communication strategy. I've used it in numerous presentations through the years. There is no doubt that in order to be a dynamic communicator, you have to evaluate your audience and their needs on a regular basis. We all learn differently. We all interpret information differently. By constantly evaluating not only the channels we are using but the actual structure of the content itself, we can continually improve the way we deliver information! The ultimate goal is...... 1) our message is clear and crisp and 2) our audience feels informed & trusts in our brand.

So simple and so true it was worth reposting.

Clear communication is the foundation of a successful workplace. It fosters collaboration, boosts morale, and minimises misunderstandings. Never stop learning

As well as passing onto others what you have learned.

To be able to lead you first must learn to follow.

So very true. Too often we assume that our default communication style meets the needs of the audience we are hoping to connect with… Too often we vent to someone who isn’t part of the problem/solution, and then hold the person who is accountable for understanding/solving for it when maybe we never communicated with them directly and gave them that opportunity in the first place… Too often we assume someone understood what we were hoping to communicate but we never actually clarified or confirmed that they did… Too often we misunderstand what someone was hoping to communicate to us, but we don’t revisit and clarify - we assume, we brood, we hold our position, or we move on… Too often we don’t say what needs to be said, or we’re unwilling to hear it… Too often we hold back on telling someone what we actually want or need from them because it feels hard to be open and make the ask… Too often we assume others know what’s on our minds (or in our 💜) so we don’t communicate at all. It can be messy for sure, but open communication is where the magic happens!

Too much caution, missed opportunities. How can you stop tiptoeing and make strides? ☑️ Evaluate risks Identify and address what's holding you back. ☑️ Set ambitious goals Create targets that push you to new heights. ☑️ Seek feedback Regularly ask for input to grow.
