Thursday wisdom:
When we get caught up in the one dimensional experience we are unable to perceive the complexity of the multidimensional expression of life. Conversations encompasses not just words that we tend to give them meaning but the energy of the believe and embodiment they have within our being. Perhaps that is the reason at times that during a turmoil of emotions we are only capable of filtering verbals and nonverbals in a biased manner. Just my opinion based on self reflections.
Just adjectives? I think adverbs too
I agree with Mark, but I’ve also found pronouns very telling as well - My department versus the department I was leading, the team I was part of or along with my colleagues. There is a me in team, but how you say it says so much about how you lead it.
This is massively outdated. Can you post more contemporary literature please?

On a related note, from the world of creative writing, the fewer adjectives you use, the better a communicator you are.
Our language is actually great indicator of our character. Not only adjectives, but also verbs are indicating what is important for us.
"Like" is a preposition... but sure.
He isn't around nowadays to recognize adjectives take a backseat to modified and perceived language.
