A few weeks ago, I concluded a brief yet enlightening internship at Deloitte. This internship took place in a field that was relatively unfamiliar to me. To be honest, before joining, I held doubts about my capacity to perform well in the role due to my limited prior knowledge. I'd like to share a couple of insights I gained, which might prove beneficial for people in a similar situation. Firstly, the initial days always involve a set of mandatory courses or training sessions. There's no need to be anxious about lacking an extensive background, as they cover all the necessary information to ensure a comfortable experience. Secondly, I discovered the value of asking clarifying questions. At the start, I hesitated to raise queries, fearing that my superiors might perceive me less favorably. However, this concern was merely an overthought. My reluctance to ask questions had negative consequences initially, but as I persisted in my internship and began to seek clarity, my overall experience became much smoother. Thirdly, it's crucial to maintain a passion for learning new things. My colleagues often used industry-specific jargon and terminology that I couldn't initially grasp, given my non-specialized background. Nevertheless, I made an effort to jot down these terms and research them later. With time, I gained confidence in using these terms effectively. KPMG Internship Completed

Hello connections! I started interning at KPMG India in the G&PS-E&S Consulting vertical last month. It was an experience full of learning and exposure. As my internship comes to an end, here are my two cents from the overall experience: 1. Interaction: It is very important to learn from your seniors. Interact with as many people as you can and ask as many questions as you can. 2. Absorb the environment: Observe and learn how a firm like KPMG India functions. Take time and explore the resources that are provided to you at the beginning of your internship. 3. Be pro-active: Rather than being reactive and waiting for you to be handed tasks, take active participation in the work and take initiative. 4. Feedback: Always ask for a review of your work. Self-improvement is key. 5. Have FUN! It’s not every day you get an opportunity to work in a multinational so early on in your roadmap. Lastly, I would like to thank Abhiraj Anand, Paridhi Chhabra, Yashika Fulwani and Akshay Bhatia for guiding me throughout my stint and helping me develop my skills. I interned at Deloitte, IN this summer, and here are my top 4 learnings from this experience at one of the Big 4s: 1. Age is not a barrier: A part of me was scared to jump aboard, and with good reason. I am still in the early stages of my career, and the prospect of working with professionals who have years of experience on their hands seemed overwhelming. On one hand, I was scared, while on the other, I realized what a great learning experience it would be to have that opportunity to interact with well-accomplished decision-makers on a daily basis. And indeed it was! I learned a lot from everyone I worked with—I had amazing teams with which I could collaborate and contribute, great bosses I reported to, and the overall satisfaction of doing something impactful every day. I would sincerely like to thank Antony Prashant , Prateek Srivastava , Anujyoti Datta , Archita Ghosh ,and Naveen John for all of their continuous guidance and support throughout my internship. 2. MNC culture: One's personal development is greatly influenced by the environment in which they work. Being a part of the Green Dot allowed me to learn more about the dynamic, inclusive, and collaborative company culture here, as well as to be a part of a high-functioning work environment and realize the impact it has. 3. Skills: Deloitte gave me a platform to not only learn but also implement new technical skills. But, more importantly, it provided me with a platform to network with professionals, identify soft skills, and hone the leadership and team-building abilities required to handle projects with agility. 4. The 'big city' effect: Despite not being from Mumbai, I relocated there for the internship in order to gain a more comprehensive learning experience. I loved the energy and the fast-paced, high-performance work environment, not only at the office but also throughout the city. They say that time waits for no one, but neither do the Mumbai local trains! Overall, this internship was a great addition to my learning experience, and I had a wonderful time working and connecting with everyone. MY KPMG EXPERIENCE KPMG started my journey into the corporate world with a six weeks internship as an advisory intern last year. It was a great opportunity, I met wonderful people like Wisdom Izuwah , Sope Okunowo and Marvelous Ayobami. Also, it looked great on my CV😂 However, I have two major take-aways from the whole experience: 1. Be decisive. Perhaps the most profound lesson I gained is the importance of making decisions promptly. If you delay taking decisions or leave it to other people to do it for you, you might end up with results you don't really like and that don't align with your preferences. Ask yourself what you really want. Usually, the answer is right inside you, waiting for a quiet moment of introspection, where you take the time to ask yourself what you really want. So, take that quiet time to listen to you. You know what you want, go for it. 2. Don't listen to fear. When you're making decisions, don't let fear make them for you. If it's something you really want to do, I'd say to act inspire of fear. Go for it. And... things would work out well for you at the end, don't worry.

2017 - Day 1 of Corporate life! Internship at EY (Risk Advisory Services) I faced multiple rejections before receiving an offer of internship from EY I remember that on my 3rd day at EY - I didn’t want to continue with my internship because I had to work till late nights and in consulting there is a culture of working till late nights to meet stringent deadlines. Today after 6 years, I realise - those 5 months of internship helped me to crack an opportunity within KPMG (deal advisory services). Change is hard, getting out of comfort zone is hard. But to grow, change is must! Till the time we will not experience different setups - we will not learn! To learn new things, we will need to adapt new things and get out of our comfort zones! Yesterday, I visited my EY office to meet my Director. I believe that EY changed my life because EY gave me those connections that helped me grow in my professional and personal life. He was my Director, or you can say a mentor or a friend. I have never seen anyone with this much humbleness. When I completed my internship in November last year. He said to me, "Tujhe iss Internship ke baad kabhi bhi agar help chahiye hogi toh just give me a call dw." He helped me multiple times. I have one rule in my life: I don't make connections, I make bonds with people. You can network with 1000 people, but the way you manage your bonding is something valuable. My director told me one thing yesterday: "Always consider your inner voice because it helps you get clarity." - Be Honest - Be Helpful - Be Oriented Three rules if you want to help someone grow. A new journey with EY I still remember when I was in my first semester of college. I used to read articles about the world's top firms.
