🙄 How many roll their eyes when they’ve completed yet another survey or form? 🖐️ How many times have you abandoned a form or questionnaire because it was too much, or just never started? 📝Job applications are the worst offenders… Redundancy, inefficiency, time consuming and low satisfaction… 🤦♂️Do you ever feel like you are applying for a job before your doctor’s visit? There certainly seem to be just as many pages… It’s pretty obvious when a company is conscious of your time and energy. They focus on your experience… ✅User-friendly ✅Brief time investment ✅Pre-filled and prepared responses ✅No redundancy ✅Logical prompts 💡What if patient data collection in healthcare was more conversational, more asynchronous, and 100x more user-friendly? Follow trends in health policy. Practice making informed predictions about what will happen in the next 1-2 years. 🔮 Track it in Notion or another second brain tool. 🧠 Review every three months (Notion can remind you, too!). 🕙 You will get better. 💊Ok. Be honest. Who is prioritising their health in 2024?🩺 A few years ago, I was hired to deliver a service transformation project. The hiring manager was quite difficult to pin down for interviews and the feedback was that she wasn’t well. When I eventually started, that manager told me she had a really bad tooth abscess that was making her very ill. She then went on to explain that she didn’t have time to fix it as she was too busy with work! 😳 Her face was swollen and infected and she was popping pain killers like tic tacs, trying to keep going. She was in the office early every day, keeping up with her work and her deliverables, all while her condition worsened. She eventually was forced to get medical attention, and ultimately had to take an extended break from work. Now the moral of the story here is obvious- no job is worth risking your health over. I am writing this from my hospital bed as I have just had neurosurgery to fix whiplash issues sustained in a car crash some time ago. I chose to make this my one priority. It’s not an easy surgery to recover from. So I have no other priorities for me right now. How many of us have got some health issue that needs resolving to be at our best? And how long are we prepared to put it off? #leadership #priority #selfcarematters

Technology changes a lot over the course of a single year, much more across the entire lifespan of a #privatepractice or #mentalhealth clinic. I highly recommend making a habit of quarterly, semi-annually, or (at least) once a year doing a "pain-point audit" of what's most costly, time-consuming, and frustrating in your day-to-day systems. 🌡 Make a running list and see if you can narrow it down to 1-2 main (and very specific) problems. ✍ Invite other #therapists and staff in for their feedback on this too. Then... take time to research. - Explore a less manual process. - Look for a more integrated or comprehensive solution. - Try to reduce paper. - Reevaluate your current tools and Google "alternatives". - Drop a message in a clinicians-only Facebook group or collab channel. There's plenty of solutions that still don't exist yet, but there's also a lot out there already that are just waiting to be found!
