The perception of mobility is changing rapidly and consumers are eager to adopt the "new ownership models", as it's seen in McKinsey & Company's Mobility Consumer Pulse report summary below! I'd like to focus two intriguing statistics in the report, apart from the highly valuable EV adoption, autonomy and infrastructure data. First data is the impressive s-pedelec e-bike adoption tendency. 46% of 30,000 respondents stated that they consider to switch their cars with S-pedelec electric bicycles in near future. This statistic can be widened to include micro mobility effortlessly. Even there are some more work to do by the leadership of governments and local authorities; it seems that the market size will reach to the exploding pandemic numbers again, faster than the expectation. Owning a car in urban areas are almost unnecessary due to the density, regulations and costs already. However, consumer behaviors are still slanted towards cars. Even this is the status quo, 29% of the people are seems ok to change their private vehicles with other forms of transport in near future. We'll watch this number increase further exponentially in near future! New ownership models including subscription and sharing is going to be the new way to meet the transportation, mobility and many other needs of us. Brace yourself.
