In this age of cost-control, globalisation, consolidation, environmental pressures - has there ever been a stronger argument against multiple events all over the globe, versus running them concurrently in one or two events? Or do localised events attract local attendees that couldn't otherwise make it? How much waste is there in this fragmented approach - or do the specialist elements and different angles of approach to both format and subject matter make the big differential drivers? And, of course, how would the many commercial interests of the various (competing) organisers be met otherwise? If there wasn't a market for all of them, they wouldn't happen... would they?
