It’s difficult to describe just how incredible it was to visit the forests of Sweden last week. I have been talking a fair bit about sustainability in the packaging industry, but to see first-hand how it has been mastered at Holmen Iggesund was truly inspiring. It is easy to understand how the carbon footprint of their paperboard is so low when you appreciate the level of investment and attention to detail that goes into every step of their forestry practices. From planting something like 30 million seeds a year right through to the way they power their mills and treat the water they use, everything has been considered. I’ll be writing a full article in the coming weeks. But for now, here’s just a few snaps from our visit…
