These recent stories should be a wake-up call that we need to police ourselves a little better and could use a degree of caution. Fighting the FAA over a little bit of oversight is not heroic. It means you are selfish and careless if your rocket goes boom and starts a wildfire. I want our Hurricane Hunter Satellites up yesterday, but won't justify rushed or careless actions like I'm trying to win "Village of the Year" in "Hot Fuzz".     How does space weather drive terrestrial weather that we experience here on Earth? NOAA provides a great overview in the link below. I am excited by the idea that our Hurricane Hunters may have external probes to collect space weather data. This will further our understanding of how space weather impacts climate and may lead to breakthroughs in predicting how solar activity drives our weather patterns. (The camera on my new iPhone isn’t too shabby.     The new monthly report from NOAA: National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration confirms the findings of Copernicus ECMWF: We just had the hottest June on record. It is the 13th in a long series of monthly temperature records as the climate crisis grips the globe. The global #ocean has been record warm since April 2023. Global sea ice extent in June was the second smallest in the 46-year record. Northern hemisphere snow cover was also below average. #ClimateAction

    SpaceX is grounded until the FAA completes its investigation of the Falcon 9 failure. Make no mistake about it, that was an incredible run of successful launches. As impressive as their successful run has been, this underscores the need for more commercial launch options. When one rocket launcher is grounded, we need others to pick up the slack.     If it feels like the world's on fire... IT IS! "In 2023, an area around twice the size of Luxembourg was burnt in the EU, amounting to more than half a million (504,002) ha, according to the Advance report on Forest Fires in Europe, Middle East and North Africa 2023. So far in 2024, there have already been almost double the average number of fires for this time of the year, but without a major impact in terms of burnt areas." In addition to Hurricane Season, it is also wildfire season. Tropical Weather Analytics, Inc.'s Hurricane Hunter Satellites will also be critical to reducing the damage caused by wildfires. Our satellite's advanced cloud characterization can differentiate between regular clouds and the pyrocumulonimbus clouds created by wildfires. Early detection is key to containing wildfires. Our sats will be especially useful in remote areas where we will monitor the entire globe for wildfire clouds every 2.5 hours.
