Miracle Mondays What does your 2024 look like? Have a plan starts by doting ideas down and thinking big! I always spend a few hours first up in the morning on the 1st or the 2nd of every year on one of the beaches in Byron Bay planning out what is important to me in life, and what my year ahead looks like. I place it into four key buckets 1. Personal - who is the person I want to be, and what is important to me. 2. Community - the gift of giving - how can I give back 3. Family - what is important to my family for the year ahead. Any key milestones we are celebrating, what do we want to do as a family in the year ahead, and how can I invest in the most important relationships in my life 4. Professionally - what are the goals that define success, celebration and growth in my professional life I implore you to find somewhere quite…just you…nature…a pen and a paper (or an iPad and its pen) and plan your year…and then make sure you look at it everyday! What does investing in your well-being look like right now? 🤔 Is it an item at the end of your list? Does it feel like something too expensive to even think about? Ideally, when building a house, you want to start with a good foundation. Over 30 years ago, we bought a small cabin. It was built on wooden pilings buried in the ground. It didn’t take us long to realize that our home was not built on a stable foundation. After years of indecisiveness, we decided to remedy the situation by building a solid foundation adjacent to the cabin. Then the cabin was moved from the pilings to the concrete, rebar-reinforced foundation. I know it sounds a bit crazy. It felt kind of crazy at the time, but we did it. We put in the work. We hired professionals to help us. After months of labor and construction, the cabin was moved onto a solid foundation. On that new foundation, we were able to expand our home to accommodate who we had become, a family with 2 growing children. This construction story reflects my personal growth journey. My personal foundation was shaky and unstable. I was restricted by my fear-based thoughts. Limited by spinning thoughts in my head, paralyzing perfectionism, and mostly I felt anxiety and dread about even being seen in the world. I didn’t even allow myself to have big dreams. It was safe being small. I lacked the grounding and support I needed to live a bigger life. Yet, something kept nudging me to grow and push against the limiting beliefs and fears. Now, many years later, I feel like a different person. By investing in myself, my personal inner foundation is much stronger. It took professional support and persistence to be where I am today. Now my foundation is much more robust. This stronger and broader base can support my big dreams and passions. My body and nervous system are more calm. When I get triggered and knocked off balance, I can bring myself back to a grounded resourced place much quicker. This foundation building is an ongoing process. The work I have done has granted me more happiness, confidence, and inspired actions. It has allowed me to discover and pursue my life’s passion. My life's passion is to support others on their own journey toward their empowered self. Helping them to build a foundation to support their big dreams, and their desires to live life with more ease and confidence.
