👏 Malaysia's PM Anwar Ibrahim is taking a smart step towards self-reliance! 🇲🇾💼 By focusing on domestic investments, Malaysia aims to reduce its heavy reliance on foreign investments, sparking less competition in the region. 🌍 📈 In 2021, 92% of investments were foreign, and in 2022, 78%. While foreign investments are essential, nurturing local companies is vital for long-term stability. 💡Local companies stay put and contribute more to the country. 👨💼🏭 📊 In comparison, Malaysia's SMEs contribute less to the economy and employment than China, Germany, and Japan. 📉 🚀 To make this work, the government must reactivate the Domestic Investment Strategic Fund (DISF) to boost technology and innovation in domestic companies. 💰🔬 🇸🇬 Singapore's similar initiatives have shown success, so it's a promising path for Malaysia's growth and innovation. 📈🌟 🌐 Let's aim high! These initiatives can help Malaysia climb the global innovation ranks. 🚀🌏 https://lnkd.in/gu8f7Trg #MalaysiaInvests #Innovation #EconomicGrowth

THE RETENTION REPORT , Why Do Foreign Businesses Relocate to Singapore? Mats L, Key findings: - Strategic location as a gateway to ASEAN - Singapore vs Hong Kong - Extensive tax incentives for businesses Singapore has long been a preeminent destination for setting up a regional headquarters and other foreign company structures to pursue business opportunities across ASEAN and Asia. The country’s status as a preferred investment destination in Asia can be attributed to its legal and tax regimes – one of the most business and investor-friendly in the world – as well as its financial system, which is highly integrated with international financial markets. This business landscape has enabled international investors to take advantage of Singapore’s access to some of the largest combined free trade areas through ASEAN, which include ASEAN-China, ASEAN-Hong Kong, and the ASEAN-India free trade agreements (FTAs). https://lnkd.in/ghtErF7k #asean #singapore #retention #businesssweden
