Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the country’s Economic Survey 2023-24 yesterday in parliament and we’re thrilled to see the Skill Impact Bond’s unique approach and interim results highlighted within this seminal document. The #BritishAsianTrust is grateful to see that the evidence and success of the Skill Impact Bond with National Skill Development Corporation has been one of the drivers for a stronger outcomes orientation in the government's approach to skilling, reflected in the budget speech where, “the Government aims to nurture an open, accountable, proactive and purposeful style of governance by transitioning from mere outlays to result-oriented outputs and outcomes.” Through the Skill Impact Bond, #India is setting a fantastic example on how impact bonds can inform better spending and scale.
