The cybersleuthing has commenced! We’re thrilled to have 9-12th grade students on campus for our inaugural Cyber Espionage Camp. Students are learning about intelligence gathering, password cracking, and forensic recovery, all skills that are utilized by law enforcement, government officials, and spies in today’s cyber world. Last week, the #FBI, CISA, and the Department of Education hosted a #cybersecurity summit for government officials, law enforcement agencies, and school districts in Washington, D.C., and northern Virginia. Schools are lucrative targets for cyber threat actors due to the amount of personal information they maintain on students, their parents or guardians, and staff members. That’s why FBI Director Christopher Wray emphasized the importance of collaboration between law enforcement and school district officials. By working together, the FBI and its partners can stay ahead of threats and respond faster to cyber incidents. Securing cyberspace against malign actors requires a team-based approach, and the FBI is committed to supporting and building strong relationships with partners of all kinds.
