I spent two days at Leaders in Sport's #4SE conference in New York - a conference where industries like sports, fashion, music and entertainment meet.
Here are a few key things that stuck with me:
1️⃣ Everyone talks about "authenticity" and the term feels overused.
2️⃣ Todays world requires sports (and you!) to stay culturally relevant.
3️⃣ "Content without intent is just content." Great stories and narratives win.
4️⃣ Music and sonic branding will play a bigger role in sports.
5️⃣ Don't claim to know! Listen to your audience, fans and customers.
Judging by my personal perception, US sports is lightyears ahead of Europe (more specifically Germany) when it comes to athlete branding, personal brands and collabs.
Overall, there were great panels and good insights. While some talks scratched the surface, others went really deep. Great mix.
TL;DR: #4SE is a great event that puts an emphasis on sports, entertainment and culture. Definitely one to keep on the list.
