And additional factor, out of trust… I think, would be an existing contraction between what we define as willingness and desire to (localize #humanitarianaid) and the practice… then I would say, trust is one of the factors, but perhaps lacking a strategy for localization would be the second. The local #NGO, they, indeed lack a structured understanding of humanitarian assistance, norms, tools and cycles; but they have local #knowledge - that could be used for the betterment of assistance in “hard to reach areas”, for instance. We also have those “first respondents” that lack resource for improvement of they capacity. Here, a local or country-based strategy for localization would fit the purpose, be that from the #UN or any other #INGO. Now that we are working to fore #privatesector to catalyze financing on #durablesoluctions, for instance, it is also a better opportunity to involved local actors, eg NGOs.

MSF is actually on the ground trying their best to deliver aid, and have suffered many losses of their personnel and equipment. Nakba means catastrophe. The first was in 1948, with ongoing efforts by Israel to displace and destroy the Palestinian people. What you see today on a much bigger scale is Nakba 2023/2024. An unprecedented catastrophe and the fastest rate of famine caused in history, as Gaza is just a large concentration camp for 2.2 million people. Starvation is being used to cause mass famine and deaths, and it is effective because there is no escape as a result of all borders being fortified with walls, barriers and weapons, and warships along the coast. It's obvious to everyone that this is genocide. Some choose to ignore it. Some choose to justify it in the name of religion (falsely, given that no religion supports killing innocent people except extremist terrorist cults). What we do or don't do, reflects a lot about us and our values. Are we going to stand up for what's right?

As the conflict rages on in #Sudan, millions are displaced, at least 750.000 people are on the brink of starvation and death and more than half of the country’s 48 million people are in a situation of chronic hunger, according to reports by the TheIPCinfo. To end the conflict and bring the country back towards a path of democratic transition, the country’s civil society, political actors, and diaspora community are coming together in a civilian-led peace process centered in Kampala and Addis Ababa.  In late May, the Taqaddum – the Coordination of Civil Democratic Forces – was founded in Addis Ababa by Sudanese civil society, diaspora, and political actors from across the political spectrum in Sudan.
