A fueling facility in Tanknology’s Northeast region requested a TankCam inspection of a 8,000 gallon fiberglass tank to inspect for undesirable conditions or abnormal operating conditions. The tank held regular unleaded. The TankCam inspection showed sludge, sediment and debris on the bottom of the tank. Residue is also visible along the side walls of the tank. Liquid drips are seen coming from the tank top and a possible crack is found along the side wall of the tank. The tank held regular unleaded. The TankCam inspection showed an active water ingress through a crack in the endcap. Residue was observed throughout tank and flaking and peeling were found. After the product was removed, the TankCam inspection located the source of the ingress. The depth of penetration is measured for a given number of hammer blows, and this information is used to calculate the soil strength.
