In a world where consumption levels are on the rise, how can we ensure that our commitment to #sustainability remains resilient? 🌎 The answer lies in #SDG12, a goal that outlines the path toward solutions that balance our growing needs with the needs of safeguarding our climate, biodiversity and pollution impacts. We had the privilege of discussing the role of sustainable consumption and production with Nature Portfolio in a conversation that shed light on the importance of transcending the linear 'take, make, and discard' patterns that have long dominated modes of global consumption and production. By embracing concepts such as the #CircularEconomy♻️ – we can embed regeneration cycles, minimize waste, and maximize the potential of our precious resources. ➡ Read more here: https://lnkd.in/eERa6vBW

Emma Wright, Sustainability Director at Ventia speaks on Net Zero 2030. APS Net Zero 2030 is the Government’s Policy for the Australian Public Service (APS) to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions to Net Zero by 2030, and transparently report on its emissions from mid-2023 onwards. "We need to transparently report on our emissions and reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 2030. Achieving net zero is achievable, but there's no cookie-cutter approach. We must focus on reducing our impact on both property and operational elements, make changes where it makes business sense, and offset the residual emissions." #cngau #canberra #government

𝗘𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗴𝘆 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝘂𝘁𝗲 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘆: Net Zero - We’ve all heard the term net zero, but what exactly does it mean? Put simply, net zero refers to the balance between the amount of greenhouse gas (GHG) that's produced and the amount that's removed from the atmosphere. It can be achieved through a combination of emission reduction and emission removal. Think differently. Think sustainably. As we navigate the ever-changing landscape of sustainability, one thing is clear: the time for action is now! 🌿💪 In a world where our planet's health is at stake, taking steps to offset carbon emissions is no longer a choice, but a responsibility. By investing in carbon offset projects, companies can neutralize their carbon footprint and contribute to a more sustainable future. 🌍💚 🌿💡But what exactly is carbon offsetting? It's a way to compensate for greenhouse gas emissions by supporting projects that reduce or remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. These projects can include reforestation, renewable energy initiatives, or even investing in technologies that capture and store carbon. 🌳⚡️ The benefits of carbon offsetting are immense. Not only does it help combat climate change and reduce global carbon emissions, but it also fosters innovation, creates green jobs, and supports local communities around the world. 🌱👥 So, how can companies get started? It's simple! 1. Begin by conducting a thorough analysis of your carbon footprint, identify areas for improvement, and set ambitious reduction targets. 2. Partner with reputable carbon offset providers who offer certified projects that align with your company's values and objectives. Let's pave the way to a greener future, one carbon offset at a time. Join the movement, show your commitment, and inspire others to take action. Together, we can build a world where sustainability is not just a buzzword, but a way of life. 🌿💚 #CarbonOffsetting #Sustainability #ClimateAction #GreenFuture #TogetherWeCan
