Stronger together? Yesterday, my job-share partner in crime Daniela Courquin and I were invited by our internal Kenvue Impact Network, "Women at Kenvue" to share our perspective and experiences on Shared Leadership. This employee-led network is all about connecting, inspiring, and supporting women in their careers.   It was a fantastic opportunity to discuss our experiences with Shared Leadership and to serve as ambassadors for expanding job sharing at Kenvue.   For us, a successful Shared Leadership is based on three must-haves: Unconditional Trust between the partners, Collaboration build on mutual support and Acting as One Voice to present a unified front in all professional matters. Also, a very common question on such flexible work models is about the lessons learned, so here is what we shared: 💡Resilience & Persistence: Shared Leadership might not be as intuitive as Single Leadership. Allow time for storming, before performing. 💡Create Capacities for Exchange: Dedicate time to connect & stay connected through various communication channels. 💡Stay close to team and stakeholders: Shared leadership needs to work for all involved parties. Thus, stay flexible and demonstrate openness in adapting the Shared Leadership style if necessary. Below we've posed a few questions to gain insights from his experience: 🔹 As the Founder of HGI, what inspired your vision and how has that evolved over time? “Before starting HGI, I had a career in corporate management in several industries. Out of multiple areas of Consulting and spending significant time at the ELT level of different organizations, I chose the one that every company needs to optimize- human capital. To be honest with you, the vision evolved out of my competitive nature – I’m a Pilot and Skier at heart!" 🔹 Please share a pivotal moment or decision in HGI's journey, and how did you navigate it? "In 2008, the market turned significantly and while many growing Search Firms chose to close their doors, we embraced the challenge and sought out hiring of Executives who were sunsetting out of their careers. The team at HGI invested time in teaching these individuals the Art of Executive Search while maximizing their golden rolodex ultimately expanding us into multiple industry verticals." 🔹 As a leader, what values or principles do you believe are non-negotiable? "The hallmark of effective leadership lies in a relentless pursuit of knowledge and personal growth. At the core of this is the ability to influence. A leader's primary strength is in their capacity to inspire and strengthen team relationships. "If BD knew what BD knows" - this sentence has stuck with me since last year when I joined one of the meetings in the Associate Resource Group. Especially in large organizations, but not only, we need more FORUMS. Places for two-way dialogue. To have THE conversations building community. And today I feel we are getting there also with the new editions of our two unique development programs at BD in EMEA, WEMpower and WEMpower+, focused on accelerating female leadership in line with our ID&E strategy. So if you ask me, what's one of the best parts of my job? It's simple. I get to participate in these discussions, I get to learn from these talented people, and I get to shape it together with the amazing team from Edit Development. 📚 From intern to COO. 🚠 From 2 to 11 team members. 🚀 From an idea to a successful business. Turning a dream into reality requires perseverance. So much is not shown in the statements above: the constant learning, the camaraderie, the wins and losses, the tough decisions, the grit required to show up day and again amidst the excitement of uncertainty. To me, walking this path of entrepreneurship and leadership has not only shaped my growth as a professional but also as a human being. This journey continues to teach me how to evolve - in purpose and self-awareness, in always showing up, even when it is hard, and in holding tight to my values. In my new role as COO, I am eager to contribute to Behavioral Science Research Institute’s continued success by driving innovation and excellence while creating a supportive organizational infrastructure to meet our shared goals. I believe that by leading with our strengths and fostering a culture of integrity and collaboration, we can achieve everything we have set out to do and more. To my team - I both admire and am inspired by you. This promotion speaks volumes of BSRI’s organizational growth, which is a result of deep effort on behalf of many. There is still much to learn. I've worked closely with C-suite leaders from day one of my career. There aren't many other career paths that offer that kind of insight. That insight is a lot of the reason that Empathix has an executive function and operates at a 100% success and retention rate. We placed the new Chief Operations & Growth Officer (COGO) at FAB Group. Here are some stats: -> From brief to interview: 11 days. -> From engagement to hire: one month. We move quickly, but speed is not really at all what we are focusing on. For us and our clients, its understanding the needs of a Company the executive level. Our process is efficient because we know exactly what to look for and how to find that talent, fast and that's often what's needed at this level. There's a lot of talk about the challenges of executive recruitment, but with the right approach and insight, it doesn't have to be that way.
