Just spent 4 days at Cvent Connect. Thought I’d share a few observations and some of my favorite quotes: Observations: 💡 Blackstone is all-in on events (obviously) And although that means they are all-in on CVent, I think it’s a great thing for the entire event tech landscape. “A Rising Tide”. I also think that level of investment, notoriety and influence is going to help lead the way for events and event tech to be leveraged further by the entire marketing suite. 💡 Rachel Andrews and her event team know how to put on a great show. As an alliance partner, I was really impressed by how well they integrated partners into the programming and the programming around the partners. For example. Having a life science and medical organizer meetup right after lunch in the middle of the alliance partner area, transformed what would typically be a slow time on the floor, to one of the most busy times of the day. 💡 Event marketing pros are hungry for better solutions to solve their problems and are definitely vocal about it. Indicative of the number of demos we had all week, the standing room only demo jam they put on with us, losing my voice on day two from demos and how genuinely excited their team is to have a partner to help their clients. 💡 Cvent having Sessionboard in their innovation pavilion. Especially when Cvent has a component of what we do. It's a big deal and a bit of a sea change that CVent is starting to push a best in class offering (when needed), rather than just an all-in-one Cvent solution. I didn't get to sit in too many sessions, but here were a few Favorite Quotes 📣 "The content footprint needs to live beyond the event to help drive ROI" - Reggie Aggarwal 📣 "Anything worth communicating is worth over-communicating" - Jennifer Morgan, Blackstone 📣 People need to feel special. We want to “feel” something. We want to connect. We want to grow. Which is why we attend events.
