🌈 It is Pride month this June 🌈 As Pride Month celebrates the vibrant diversity of the LGBTQIA+ community this month, it is important to address the ongoing issue of anti-LGBTQIA+ hate incidents and bullying. Despite significant strides in equality, these acts of intolerance continue to affect individuals and communities. At the beginning of this year we published an article which examines the rise in anti-LGBTQIA+ hate incidents within the context of anti-social behaviour and community safety, highlighting the impact on victims and the challenges faced by ASB practitioners. With the recent implementation of the Social Housing (Regulation) Act 2023 in April 2024, this discussion underscores the need for updated policies and proactive measures to ensure safe and inclusive communities.
