We don't see any Inventors' fame like Alexander Grahambell, Wright brothers or Thomas A. Edison these days.That's probably because now we have tipped the point on inventions, and have moved into the era of Innovation. The world is so globalised, we as a society tend to perceive the most popular things and not necessarily the most important. This means the Hard Sciences may have to step up their marketing game to allow the world to know the leaps we are making as a civilization. Super conductors, Control of quantum randomness, AI tools and Quantum computing in today's world would've been a dream/paradise for the inventors mentioned above. Either the scientists have to get better at marketing, or we the general public have to become more curious about our existence. #breakthroughs https://lnkd.in/g5hyHzcX

Yesterday, I revisited the brilliant film The Imitation Game. Watching it again, I found a renewed respect and appreciation for Alan Turing and his monumental contributions to data science. In today's world, AI is the buzzword driving technological innovation and investment. But it's important to remember the roots of this journey. Turing's proposal to answer the question, "Can machines think?" in his seminal 1950 paper, "Computing Machinery and Intelligence," laid the groundwork for everything we are achieving today. His work is indeed foundational to the concepts of AI. Turing's insights into computation, pattern recognition, and the potential for machines to learn and adapt are all critical elements that underpin modern AI research and applications. His work laid the groundwork for understanding how machines could simulate human thought processes, which is a fundamental aspect of AI. Turing's legacy is undeniable, and his contributions continue to shape the field of AI today. Turing's seminal 1950 paper introduced the idea of the Turing Test, which was designed to determine whether a machine could exhibit intelligent behavior indistinguishable from that of a human. This concept is pivotal to the field of artificial intelligence as it addresses the core question of machine intelligence and sets a benchmark for AI development. As we continue to push the boundaries of AI, it's important to remember the groundbreaking work of pioneers like Alan Turing and lessons.
