HRBP II Passion for Growth & Development II Working Together Brings Out Best in All II Filtration Ambassador
An Intern's Experience Internships are powerful opportunities for students to learn in a real-world environment. For companies like #mannhummel, we benefit from fresh observations, new ideas 💡, and solutions. Yesterday, Pranesh Chandravelu, Quality Intern, shared his closing presentation about his project that started this Summer at the MPUS facility in Fayetteville, NC. After the meeting, I spent a little time with him asking about his experience working in the facility. This is what he experienced: 🏭 Most appreciated aspect: Opportunity to gain knowledge and interact with employees in different facility areas; enjoyable work. 🏭 Something learned he did not know about: Purolator invented the “spin-on” filter. Learning about the history of Purolator was an unexpected added bonus. 🏭 Most challenging part: Realizing that changes involve more than making an update. They require the involvement of others and developing what is needed for its success such as training for operators. 🏭 How the experience at MANN+HUMMEL will help his future goals: This was his first experience working with manufacturing processes. Each interaction was meaningful to gain knowledge in areas that were not as familiar to him. Thank you 🙏, Pranesh for sharing your knowledge with us. We wish you success in your future undertakings. What have you learned from interns in your location? Please share below. #internship #filtrationambassador #opportunity

We benefit from the fresh perspectives and innovative ideas that our internship program brings. Interns bring unique energy and enthusiasm to the workplace, injecting new life into our teams. Their fresh perspectives push us to think differently and explore new approaches, challenging the status quo. This not only benefits our organization but also fosters a culture of innovation and continuous improvement. The videos presented at Intern Week were all recorded and edited by interns. Meet Hannah Patterson School: majoring in Industrial & Systems Engineering and minoring in Business, Engineering, & Technology. At Auburn University Team: Internal Logistics Intern Quote:” Be ready for work. It is a joke that most interns only do coffee runs or “grunt work”; however, that won’t happen at AM/NS. Prepare to be a valuable component to your team and make powerful decisions that will affect and improve the company.” #Internweek #FutureWorkforce #TalentDevelopment #internshipexperience

Gen Z in Manufacturing Ep. 9: Taking Risks at Internships and Finding Meaning Full Time This video Gen Z in Manufacturing: Finding Purpose and Passion caught our eye, and it's a must-watch for anyone in manufacturing, especially those looking to attract young talent. The video features Bryce Walters, a 26-year-old manufacturing robotics engineer at Lockheed Martin, who shares his journey and perspective on the industry. Here are some key takeaways: Finding purpose: Manufacturing might not be the first field that comes to mind when you think of meaningful careers. But for Walters, knowing his work contributes to national security brings a sense of fulfilment. This highlights the importance of showcasing the impactful projects young engineers can work on in manufacturing. The value of hands-on experience: The video underscores the importance of revamping internships to resonate with Gen Z. Walters emphasises that interns crave hands-on experience and taking ownership of projects, not busy work. Manufacturing companies can take note: invest in quality internships that provide real-world challenges and mentorship. Importance of taking risks in internships: Bryce Walters emphasises how his early internship at a small company allowed him to take risks and learn quickly. He suggests that companies give interns challenging projects and the freedom to experiment, fostering a culture where risk-taking is encouraged for accelerated growth. Mentorship matters: Walters credits mentorship as a key factor in his development. This reinforces the need for strong mentorship programs to foster well-rounded young talent in manufacturing. If you're in manufacturing, how can you attract and retain Gen Z talent? Share your thoughts in the comments! #manufacturing #genz #engineering #careers #mentorship #futureofwork #careers #Barnbrook

I was honored to speak at the Universidad Politécnica de Querétaro yesterday about the importance of internships. I shared my own experiences as an intern, and I talked about how internships can help students gain valuable skills, make connections, and launch their careers. I was inspired by the energy and enthusiasm of the students in the audience. They were eager to learn about the world of work, and they were excited about the opportunities that internships at Magna International can offer. I believe that internships are essential for students who want to succeed in their careers. Internships provide students with the opportunity to gain real-world experience, learn from professionals, and make connections that can help them land their dream jobs. If you're a student, I encourage you to explore internship opportunities. Internships can help you make the most of your college years and set yourself up for success in your career. #WeAreMagna
