Crystal Valley is excited to announce the Boards of Directors from Crystal Valley and New Vision Co-op have jointly agreed to explore a possible unification of the farmer-owned cooperatives. The two boards will investigate the potential benefits of merging our organizations to better serve our members and employees into the future. The study will explore several key questions, including: • How do we best prepare ourselves to serve the next generation of farmers? • How do we attract and retain employees today and in the future? • Can we serve our patrons more effectively and efficiently together than we can separately? Over the next couple months, our joint boards will examine the facilities, operations, processes, and employee cultures of our two financially strong and geographically complementary cooperatives. Key points of consideration in the study include: • Alignment of values, missions, and visions between Crystal Valley and New Vision. • Strong feed assets by both serving a diverse customer base from six manufacturing facilities. • Significant grain presence with mutual benefits from increased rail line access for national and global markets. • Agronomy products and services for fertilizers, seed, and crop protection. • Expansion of Crystal Valley's energy business including refined fuels, lubricants, and propane. • Long-term financial and patron equity strategies. We invite you to visit our website https://lnkd.in/gH8YE_nn, to submit your questions or concerns through our unification study landing page, which will also provide periodic updates on the study’s progress. We also encourage you to reach out to your board members to discuss this study and share your thoughts or concerns. This process is scheduled for completion this summer, with a potential member vote taking place before fall harvest. If approved by both companies, the newly merged company would likely begin operations in the winter of 2025.
