There is an abundance of information out there, much of it being of little value. Useless or misguided advice surrounds us, and as fathers, it is our responsibility to sift through it and discern the valuable advice. It is not common to come across a church video here, but this time, a pastor has shared a message that can greatly impact fathers. It doesn't matter if you are religious or not, there is power in this message. I hope you take away two key points from this. Firstly, recognize your role as the leader of your family. Secondly, grasp the significance of being the Elder of your family.

While it’s easy to say that pastors are being ‘courageous’ for taking a stand on a partisan issue or in favor of a political party, it’s prudent to ask whether that’s really being courageous. As Duke University’s Chris Bail’s research shows, just 6% of the radical positions on social media drive 73% of all traffic online (thank you algorithms). But he also points out that most people are not extremists. They’re moderates. What if it’s not courageous to take a partisan position from the pulpit? What if being courageous these days means becoming an alternative to the culture, not an echo of it? If you flip the calendar ahead a decade, the future church will consist of Christians who look, live, and sound much more like Jesus than the political candidate of their choice. Many church leaders are about to face this truth: Neither unchurched people nor the next generation are looking for politics or ideology at church. They’re looking for Jesus. Church leaders who point them in that direction will lead the next generation of growing churches.

A servant is not greater than his master” is a quote from the Bible, John 13:16, which says, “Truly, truly, I say to you, a servant is not greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him”. So tell me as to those in leadership in the church and government, who among you are greater than your Master? Why do I ask? I’ll answer that with another series of questions. Why do those in error refuse correction? Why do those in sin attempt to hide it and then blame others for it? Why do those caught in lies deny it? Who among you are greater than your master? Not a single one of you. For there be not a single one of us in the flesh who are without sin, have not lied, nor at times attempted to hide it blaming others for it. Call it what it is and strike a blow against it in truth. So tell me where is there an argument for being prideful and arrogant in leadership pretending to be infallible when all are called to be humble, teachable and correctable? Those who are in truth do not suppress the truth. Those who are in a lie will attempt to use truth to cover their lies and thereby prove the truth about them doing so. Those who suppress the truth are closer to it than those who say they are in truth and use to lie and attempt to hide their errors. Both are liars. Both are exposed as such. One will be broken and humbled by it and the other will harden their heart and be exposed and shattered by it. And for people so too for nations. Othniel Max Daves

Someone needed to say it. So glad Katelyn Beaty now did! "Obviously the bro code is bad for women because it asks them to deal with sexual harassment on their own — such as through a whisper network, as at CT. But beyond the more obvious harm of harassment, it also asks women to tolerate men who are bad at their jobs. Or to tolerate men who are good at their jobs but are cyclically unprofessional, volatile, have poor interpersonal and/or regulatory skills, and make them feel like crap. And none of this is good for Christian institutions or the church. One, because it often means that unqualified men lead those institutions in unhealthy or unwise ways, setting a low standard for others’ conduct and expectations. Two, because Christian institutions are to be places where all people are ensured dignity, fairness, and physical and emotional safety, and where bro codes are superseded by kingdom codes. If your Christian institution is functionally an old-boy network, there’s probably not much discernibly Christian about it."
