Unpacking the Real Talk with Top BCBAs at BDA I just wrapped up a chat with four ace BCBAs at Brett DiNovi & Associates (BDA) Katelynn Wiamer Brianna Snyder, M.A., BCBA Here's the lowdown: -School Politics & Cash Woes: Navigating school red tape is tough. Teachers need more support, and slow budget nods mean higher costs later. - No Pay Props for Rockstar Teachers: Schools can't really do the pay-for-performance aspect of OBM. So, the top guns often end up overworked and under-thanked. - Shoutouts Matter: Big ups from admins can make a teacher's day. BCBAs giving props helps tons. - Bonuses? Meh: Newbies get the sweet sign-on deals, but what about the OG Teachers who've been grinding for years? - Building Bonds: Hitting it off with school admins is key for smooth BCBA work. https://lnkd.in/ewNCYT8j #bcba #appliedbehavioranalysis #teachers #abatherapy

Executive Director at TGS Educational Consulting: Helping Caring Organizations to “Live Their Values Out Loud.”
If you’re a school using PBISApps, you have access to incredible equity data. If you’re a year-round educator, look at your equity data and commit to “problem-solving” mindsets. It’s tempting to make excuses for inequities that show up in discipline data. I’ll often hear: -We have too many students with IEPs that skew our data. -Boys/girls always have more discipline than boys/girls. -It’s because we have a small group of [insert race/ethnicity. Usually, lines like those above aren’t really completely accurate. And even if these (or similar) reasons were true, they don’t help us dismantle school-wide systems that re-create inequity in discipline. Our data has no feelings towards us and isn’t there to assign blame. Rather, our data describes problems we need to solve. Typically, equity problems are about unmet needs that require changes in site-level and district-level systems to solve. I’m happy to help you get started, and so would the amazing people at School Leadership for Social Justice. Check them out too! #equity #PBIS
