Though most magazines seem to get thinner at this time of year, EPDT is definitely bucking that trend. The July print/digital edition is a very healthy 40 pages. It's full of insightful, technically in-depth content. I speak with Cree LED’s Morgan Meadows Davis, PMP about solid-state horticultural lighting, as well as writing an article on the emergence of direct energy wave (DEW) technology in counter warfare. Jon Baxter from distribution specialist Solsta - the new name for Solid State Supplies Ltd discuses the need for adaptability to the changing business landscape. There’s an article from Lattice Semiconductor's Karl Wachswender on use of advanced FPGAs in an Industry 4.0 context. New XLamp XP-L Colour LEDs - Enabling Smaller Lower Profile Colour-Mixing Luminaires Cree LED's XLamp XP-L LEDs are multi-colour RGBW devices that deliver the combination of high lumen output and great colour mixing in a small 3.45mm x 3.45mm footprint package. These LEDs feature the smallest possible distance between LED die, creating a small optical source for excellent optical control and efficient colour mixing. With a 33% smaller light emitting surface (LES) than the existing XLamp XM-L Colour Gen 2 LEDs, the new devices offer a new price-performance option for XLamp RGBW LEDs. XP-L Colour LEDs are offered in high-density and high-intensity optical options, both with the same footprint.
