This should be an awkward exit interview.
Six days ago, Long Beach State announced it was firing head coach Dan Monson after 17 years. However, the school decided to allow him to coach out the Big West Tournament. So, he just led LBSU to the Big West title—and the school’s first NCAA Tournament berth in over a decade.

Junior journalism major/sports administration minor at Howard, writer for The Hilltop, aspiring sports journalist, I have my own website called KLA Sports on WordPress and YouTube
The massive conference realignment happening in college football is something that we’ve never seen. With so much movement at the top level of play, how will this move impact HBCU football? In my latest The Hilltop piece, I break down the reason behind the college football realignment, and discuss how this could impact HBCU football and their conference play. Check it out in my portfolio under “The Hilltop” button. https://lnkd.in/eVm2Mazf

Just having a deep thought on how the EPL ended with Man City winning the cup for the fourth time in a row. With Arsenal chasing relentlessly, yet having not won in 20 years, it’s a stark reminder that in life, we must pay the price in full to achieve greatness and be celebrated. At some point at the end of the season, I was thinking 🤔 like can't Man City coach intentionally allow Arsenal to win the league, having trained Arsenal's coach some years back? But success isn't handed over freely; it requires unwavering dedication, relentless effort, and the willingness to overcome countless obstacles. Man City's triumph is a testament to their hard work, strategic planning, and consistency. Similarly, Arsenal's journey, filled with ups and downs, teaches us the importance of persistence and resilience. In our own lives, we must embrace these principles. To win and be celebrated, we must commit fully, strive continuously, and never give up. Only then can we reach the heights of our dreams and earn the recognition we desire.commit fully, strive continuously, and never give up. Only then can we reach the heights of our dreams and earn the recognition we desire. #never give up

An interesting report today published by British Future and Spirit of 2012 on the role football can play in creating social cohesion in diverse communities, through a common love of football. Do you have any examples you can share of sports doing precisely that? Can sport be a leader in building cohesion and cultural competence in local communities ?
Report out today on a brilliant British Future project, 'Shared Goals', looking at the power of football clubs to bridge divides by building shared and inclusive local identity in the towns and cities where they're based. Great to work with British Future colleague Jake Puddle and Brentford Football Club + Huddersfield Town Football Club on this. Read the report here: https://lnkd.in/gfTGTefY
