When to Use Joint Manipulations On this episode of the #AskMikeReinold show we talk about the use of joint manipulations versus mobilizations. As physical therapists, I'd say we have been manipulating less and less as we continue to learn more, but we discuss it a bit more on this episode.

Belatedly listening in to Monalisa Salib and Emily Janoch on CARE's "Failing Forward" podcast. "The technical solution will not get you anywhere without the people", Monalisa argues. And Emily concurs: "I feel like every evaluation I do or read is essentially saying the same thing... In a nutshell, the people mattered more that the [technical] solution." "Start with context... What is achievable in that context?" concludes Monalisa. Good food for thought on expertise (especially for us #generalist s out there!), and ensuring theories of change are embedded in living systems but also flexible and focused. Emily and Monalisa also invite ensuring #changemanagement (for implementers, too!) is equally recognized in our pathways to social impact. My thinking goes first to using developmental evaluation to guide and track change within programs. I also think about the implications of deep contextualization on metrics, scaling, and transferrable learning. The folks in the Causal Pathways network are doing very interesting work on rigor and systems and are a good place to continue explore work that's pushing the social impact #evaluation field forward. https://lnkd.in/gcyJnXyp
