Finally getting around to listening to this episode on the Harvard Business School Deep Purpose podcast featuring Helena Foulkes and can't recommend it enough to my friends and network. Love the idea that Helena talks about in this article about the transformative power of asking "What could go right?" I know it might be easier said than done, but shifting from a mindset of fear and caution to one of possibility and optimism can absolutely change your outlook on life. I highly recommend shifting to this mindset and checking out the article to hear some recommendations on the concept.

Sometimes as managers we can lean too much into heavy reassurance, which has the tendency to border on toxic positivity. Emotional agility is much more important to ensure our teams feel seen and heard when raising issues. I listened to this amazing podcast featuring Susan David, which explores the importance of emotional intelligence and how to avoid compassion fatigue. Worth saving for your commute: https://lnkd.in/e_NHZ_qz

The most popular action that my clients want to implement when they know that they need to find more ease in their day and manage their stress is ‘going for a walk during my lunch break’. There are many benefits to this, no doubt. But how do you walk? With your your earbuds in with music or a podcast on? On the phone talking to a friend? Ruminating about all the things you still need to do? If this sounds familiar then this walk might not be the stress regulator that you are looking for (still better to walk than to have your lunch at your desk though!) So how can you optimise your walk so you get the most benefit from it? Quiet - just be aware of the sounds around you. No music. No podcast. No phonically. Use your senses to stay present in the moment. If you notice that you get lost in thought while walking try to be aware of what you see (name it), or focus on feeling your feet touch the ground Notice the beautiful - a flower, a person smiling, a tree, something beautiful in a shop window. Smile at the people you meet. Yes, even if this feels a bit weird. It is incredibly healthy and a stress lowering mechanism if you bring some kindness to the strangers around you. Let me know how you get on!
