#Didyouknow that many of our interns continue their career with New Pig and become full-time employees? We are thrilled to introduce you to Justin, who started his New Pig journey as an intern. Q: Where did you go to school? A: Penn State Altoona Q: Why did you decide to intern with New Pig? A: I had heard nothing but good things about New Pig. I knew several people that had worked here already, and I knew if I got the opportunity, I would try my best to take full advantage of it. Q: What about New Pig made you want to become a full-time employee? A: The culture and people were everything I was looking for in a full-time job. Also, I was doing real and meaningful work the first week I got here. A lot of times people think in internships you will be doing the boring work others do not want, that was far from the case here and that really stuck out to me. Overall, everyone was very welcoming and supportive! Q: What is your favorite part of your job? A: I could go on for days about my favorite part of my job, but I will keep it short. One is, no day is the same and I really enjoy that. Two, I have gotten to meet so many great people throughout my time here so far. Lastly, the people I work with are so great, and it makes it very enjoyable coming to work every day. Q: What do you enjoy doing in your free time? A: I love to hang out with family and friends, play sports and sell & collect vintage clothing.

When I was recently contacted by the PRCA to recommit to our pledge on paying interns, it made me wonder: what sort of company does not pay interns? We have had a fully salaried intern recruitment position annually for more than a decade and have used this globally to bring in lots of interns to the business and to train them either to stay with us (great) or to move on in their careers. We've had the pleasure of paying interns to learn their trade with us, and have provided a great springboard for other businesses to benefit from the training we give our staff if they move on later. This is a win/win for us, for interns, for future employers. Why would anyone not pay a fair salary to somebody who is working for their organization? Personally I do not feel it is fair to ask anyone to work for our business without payment for their services. I guess when all companies pay, it will be more of a level paying field, but if companies continue not to pay, there is a continued expectation that this is about 'taking advantage'. We've employed a great cohort of interns over the years, and I would be embarrassed to have taken advantage of their wish to 'get on the ladder'. So The Scott Partnership Ltd has only ever paid its interns and will continue to do so into the future. #internships #intern #B2Bmarketing #B2BPR PRWeek
