So we have a new government, and Keir said today that 'change starts immediately'. There's a lot to do even just in our industry - and while the long awaited Digital Markets bill and the Media Bill were passed as part of the legislative wash up back in May, there's a hefty in tray for the incoming Secretary of State for Culture, Media & Sport. Regulation of AI, strengthening online safety for children, protecting media plurality, keeping content standards high for global streaming platforms, and ensuring a healthy media ecosystem for the good of the audiences - as well as the commercial brands that rely on them - are just a few of the things our industry needs tackling. I'm sure there'll be a raft of articles and views (more considered and more expert than my own) in the days and weeks to come about 'what the new government means for the ad industry... but if you can't be the best, then maybe you can be the first!
