It just concentrates on running the fastest race it can" So I looked up the meaning of Thoroughbred Horse and Wikipedia gave me this: "Thoroughbreds are classified among the "hot-blooded" breeds, which are animals bred for agility and speed and are generally considered spirited and bold." Now the quote above implies that a truly exceptional individual, like a thoroughbred horse, remains focused on their own goals and performance, rather than being distracted or influenced by the actions or successes of others. Because the thoroughbred horse is specifically bred for racing, its primary focus lies in delivering its best performance rather than anxiously comparing itself to other horses. I understand that comparison is a common occurrence, especially when putting in consistent effort without seeing immediate results. However, I urge you to sharpen your focus by honing your skills and refining your expertise. Instead of comparing, celebrate the achievements of others and keenly observe what sets them apart. The response to setbacks or lack of results should be a persistence in self-improvement. I know this is what the thoroughbred horse will be subjected to if he fails to win the race. There will an analysis of the race, areas of weaknesses that seemed to have been overlooked or exploited and areas of strengths to capitalize on. 🏇 Have you ever seen a racehorse with covers on its eyes? That’s because sometimes, in the biggest races of your life, it requires ultimate focus. The smallest distraction can cost you dearly. Those covers are there for the horse to hyperfocus on winning, which is exactly what you have to do. You can’t look at the horse next to you, who might be bigger, had more sleep, has better gear, or has trained more. You can’t listen to the crowd, whether they’re booing or cheering for you. You can’t focus on who’s coming up behind you or who you’re rubbing shoulders with. Your focus is on winning. Sometimes, you might feel pain from the one leading you, akin to being hit with a whip. But that whip isn’t necessarily there to harm you; it’s more of guidance, to steer you in the right direction, using things we don’t like. Even if you’re giving it your all, 100%, and you still get ‘whipped,’ it’s just a reminder that maybe you can push to 110% and don’t even realize it. You’ve got one job in this life: to win. Put your blinders up, kick out all distractions, and focus on getting through one race at a time. I’ve been coming up with analogies for a long time I’m gonna start sharing them.
