We are thrilled to welcome 17 talented interns to the Cottage Health team this summer! Spanning 10 specialized departments, these interns will be taking on part-time or full-time roles over the next 10 weeks.
During their time with us, they'll gain valuable exposure to real-world healthcare challenges, engage in curriculum relevant to their fields, and participate in cohort activities designed to build meaningful relationships and immerse themselves in various aspects of the Cottage Health experience.
We can’t wait to see all that they’ll accomplish!

Get to know our team! Today we are featuring Lucas Greenberg our summer intern from Case Western Reserve University!
What do you do at UH Ventures in one sentence?
- I've been interning with Matthew Zenker and the new UH Haslam Sports Innovation Center with their incoming deal flow. I research, analyze, and compile a variety of data and information to assess sports-medicine and health companies/markets to help accelerate and invest in them. I'm also working on the upcoming SportsLand event with Patricia Colella, MBA, by helping out in all areas of event management.
What are your favorite things to do outside of school?
- I love to exercise and try new workouts, but more importantly, I love to eat. During COVID, I began cooking and baking as a way to unwind; I try to make a meal four times a week. My favorite dish to make is my grandfather’s shrimp and pea risotto.
Favorite binge-worthy TV show?
- The Office. I have seen The Office over five times and I can quote certain scenes by heart!
What is your favorite restaurant in Cleveland?
- Batuqui; a fun Brazilian summer dinner spot.
What do you love about Cleveland?
- I was born and raised all around Cleveland, and throughout my time, there has been one constant: the people. Everyone from Cleveland has a unique and inspiring story, and I love meeting people from around the world.

There are only two metros that entered 2024 with more occupied office space than before the pandemic:
1. West Palm Beach
2. Las Vegas
WPB is averaging sub-10% vacancy across all submarkets. This has led to an average rent growth of 2.6% over the last 12 months and 22.4% over the past 3 years.
The South Florida market is dynamic, fast-paced, and volatile for tenants. McCann Commercial helps occupiers:
• Identify opportunities for new office space
• Ensure favorable terms upon renewing in existing space
• Securing space for start-up firms
• Need to expand, contract, or reconfigure existing space
Great research from Sajan Blum who just kicked off his summer internship with the McCann team up in Philly!
We're highlighting our interns for National Intern Day!
Bryce Mayden is our intern from Hanover College and has been working with our Economic Development team this summer.
1. What is your favorite project that you've worked on at 1si so far this summer?
My favorite project was researching the local economy (i.e., real GDP throughout the last 20 years, unemployment rates, housing costs, etc.)
2. What is your most memorable experience from this summer?
Our everyday conversations in the office have been the most memorable experiences this summer.
3. What are your hobbies outside of work/school?
My big hobby outside of work/school is soccer; I love playing pickup, training on my own, and watching games on TV.
As a parent, there are moments that fill your heart with pride and a touch of nostalgia. Today, I experienced one of those moments when I saw my son Jake Childers pop up on my LinkedIn feed, celebrating their internship Blue Trust.
Watching them grow, learn, and now step into the professional world is incredibly rewarding. It feels like just yesterday they were taking their first steps, and now they’re making strides in their career.
This journey has been filled with countless lessons, both for them and for me. Here are a few reflections:
1. Embrace Change: Seeing your child transition from the classroom to the workplace is a reminder that change is constant and growth is inevitable. Embrace it with open arms.
2. Celebrate Small Wins: Every accomplishment, no matter how small, is a step forward. Celebrate these moments to build confidence and momentum.
3. Mentorship Matters: Encourage them to seek mentors and also be one yourself. Sharing experiences and insights can make a significant difference in their journey.
4. Stay Curious: The world is evolving rapidly. Encourage them to stay curious and keep learning, adapting to new challenges and opportunities.
5. Support and Trust: As they embark on their career path, your support and trust in their abilities mean the world to them. Be their biggest cheerleader.
To all the parents out there witnessing similar milestones, let’s cherish these moments and continue to guide our children as they make their mark in the world. And to Jake Childers, I couldn’t be prouder of you. Here’s to many more achievements and learning experiences ahead! 🌟

➡️When I first started my practice, I was in a full-time dietetic internship and also working 25 hours as a nanny.
I know they say NEVER work during your internship 👈
🙃And now I know why.
It nearly killed me 😵
🍹Plus, I was bartending on Friday night, slinging margaritas.
With what limited time I had left (there was not much!) I would see patients at coffee shops & libraries (I had no office!) at all sorts of odd hours, either after I got off work at 7:30 pm or on the rare weekends we interns were not on call 😬
🥴Like WTF.
We were working for FREE but you have the balls to put us ‘on-call.’ 😡
😵💫That is some bullshit if you ask me.
Also, that same year my younger brother got killed in a car accident 😔
🫠 So you add sheer devastation, on top of exhaustion & coupled with getting treated like an indentured servant & all I can say was life sucked.
But this chick right here had a dream 😎
🫵Like many of you.
I was willing to do whatever it took to achieve my dream of running a highly profitable insurance-based practice 📋
🤩Rather than throw my hands up in the air & say ‘f*ck that noise,’ I kept my eye on the prize & tightened my ponytail & did whatever it took to make shit happen.
So my advice to you is to set realistic expectations 😅
⏰There is a good chance your climb to creating a profitable insurance-based private company will require long, untraditional hours and working around other people’s schedules.
But after all the blood, sweat & tears, it will be all worth it 🥳
🧐Are any other RDs deep in this struggle of juggling a million & one things while growing your practice?
What actions are you taking to ‘fight the fight’ even when life gets messy? 🤺

Let’s support our fellow RDs in this universal struggle to create something great 👯♀️👯♀️
This week, we welcome the 2024 Summer Interns and Co-Ops to their first day at the Chick-fil-A Corporate Support Center!
These bright young professionals are embarking on a transformative journey this week during our on-site orientation. Over the coming months, they will tackle real-work projects and leave a lasting imprint on our business.
For opportunities to join our early talent programs and opportunities at our Atlanta Support Center, follow us and stay tuned this summer.
I’m seeing a lot of posts about what interns should be doing this summer.
Yes it’s important to network, show up early, stay late, ask good questions, etc.
It’s more important to find some fun and start learning a little about what older generations didn’t - work/life balance. Practice it now so you’re a pro when it counts.
If you’re in a new city, your biggest regret when you leave will be not doing something every week you can’t do at home.
If you’re in the same city, your biggest regret will be not hanging out with new friends from different cities when they leave to go home.
You’re interns, yes, but you’re also human beings that through prioritizing your own health and wellness will make much better full-time employees down the road.
And you’ll have more fun getting there.
Congratulations to all!
