Congratulations to CeFEO member Francesco Chirico, PhD and his co-authors Diana Ivanycheva, William S. Schulze and Erik Lundmark, on publishing their article "Lifestyle Entrepreneurship: Literature Review and Future Research Agenda” in Journal of Management Studies (ABS 4). Research in leading entrepreneurship and management journals has tended to conceptualize entrepreneurship as motivated by the goals of wealth, income, or social value creation. This research has thus largely overlooked entrepreneurial motivations such as the desire to engage in particular activities that the entrepreneurs find rewarding or the desire to live in particular locations. A very interesting and informative day spent at the second annual Entrepreneurs in Residence conference at Lancaster University Management School. Many thanks to Brian Gregory and Salma Atcha for organising. Some key themes emerging from the discussions: 1. How businesses can help protect biodiversity, and the need for environmentally responsible supply chains that can be tracked, measured and monitored. 2. The launch of the Global Entrepreneurs in Residence programme - this is very exciting! 3. Lots of discussion about social value and social enterprise. 4. Challenges around the notion of 'leadership' as a research topic and whether we should now be thinking more about 'stewardship'. 5. The use of 'teaching cases' in education as a vehicle for integrating theory with practice. The whole EinR programme is such an opporunity to swap ideas, hear about the latest developments from 'big hitters' in their fields and just to have the space to contemplate things that are important to business but you don't always have the head space to truly consider. #LUMS #LancasterUni #Entrepreneursinresidence
