Appointments of female board directors to the UK’s largest financial services firms declined huge 28 percentage points year-on-year in 2023 - according yo new data from EY. There are no women in senior board positions (Chair, CEO, CFO or Senior Independent Director) at 26% of listed financial services firms in the UK 21% of UK-listed financial firms still report under 40% women on their boards (40% is the level required by the FCA’s rules on diversity and inclusion for company boards and executive management). The business case for diversity on executive teams has never been stronger with new McKinsey Research showing that companies with representation of women exceeding 30 percent are significantly more likely to financially outperform those with 30 percent or fewer.
