All U.S. hospitals follow standard precautions. These are infection-control practices such as wearing gloves, properly disposing of contaminated materials, and so on. While having these is place is reassuring, compliance can vary. And even when hospital staffers reliably take every step to avoid the spread of infection, transmission can and does occur. https://bit.ly/3zHXDdo

Root canal filling materials can vary, but a common choice is a substance called gutta-percha. Gutta-percha is a rubber-like material derived from the latex of certain trees. It is often used to seal and fill the space inside a cleaned and prepared root canal. Other materials, such as sealers, may also be used in conjunction with gutta-percha to ensure a proper seal and prevent infection.

You have heard it before, but #handwashing is the best way to prevent the spread of infection. Take action and practice hand hygiene often. #WisdomWednesday 🧼 Wet your hands with clean, running water (warm or cold), turn off the tap, and apply soap. 🧼 Lather your hands by rubbing them together with the soap. Lather the backs of your hands, between your fingers, and under your nails. 🧼 Scrub your hands for at least 20 seconds. Need a timer? Hum the “Happy Birthday” song from beginning to end twice. 🧼 Rinse your hands well under clean, running water. 🧼 Dry your hands using a clean towel or air dry them. 🧼 Encourage those around you to do the same!

#Eye Flu# If someone has eye flu, also known as conjunctivitis, it is important to take necessary precautions to protect yourself and prevent the spread of the infection. Firstly, avoid direct contact with the person's eyes or any objects that may have come into contact with their eyes, such as towels or pillows. Wash your hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after being in close proximity to the infected person. Refrain from touching your own eyes, nose, or mouth to avoid transferring the virus. It is advisable to maintain a safe distance from the infected person, preferably about six feet, to minimize the risk of transmission. If you must care for a person with eye flu, wear disposable gloves and dispose of them properly after use. Lastly, disinfect frequently touched surfaces in your environment to maintain cleanliness. By following these precautions, you can protect yourself from contracting eye flu and reduce its spread.
