𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞 𝐏𝐨𝐬𝐭 (𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐯𝐮𝐥𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐦𝐢𝐱𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐧)!
I would like to express my deep gratitude to La Tondra Murray, Ph.D. She is a strengths-based, Gallup-certified leadership coach whom I have had the pleasure of working with for the past year.
Strengths can work for and against you, and La Tondra helped me understand how mine show up and how to better access them to serve my clients and goals.
I hope you’ll 𝐜𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐤 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐤 in the comments to read the full post (~2-3 min read). If you are short on time, here are a few highlights:
🔶 𝐀𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬 like me are naturally driven to do all the things and serve all the people. But they also anchor around 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐱𝐢𝐭𝐲, which can cause burnout, lack of focus on the most important things in work and communications, limiting the growth of others, and perfectionism. To combat this, achievers can ask themselves: 𝑊ℎ𝑎𝑡 𝑖𝑠 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑠𝑖𝑚𝑝𝑙𝑒𝑠𝑡 𝑛𝑒𝑥𝑡 𝑠𝑡𝑒𝑝 𝐼 𝑐𝑎𝑛 𝑡𝑎𝑘𝑒 𝑡𝑜 𝑚𝑜𝑣𝑒 𝑡ℎ𝑖𝑠 𝑖𝑛𝑖𝑡𝑖𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑣𝑒 𝑓𝑜𝑟𝑤𝑎𝑟𝑑 𝑜𝑟 𝑡𝑒𝑠𝑡 𝑡ℎ𝑖𝑠 𝑛𝑒𝑤 𝑖𝑑𝑒𝑎 𝑜𝑢𝑡?
🔶 My sense of 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 has served me well, and it comes through in the deep investments I make in my clients and our work together. But Responsibility has a dark side, which for me looks like over-ownership and self-directed negative thoughts when things don’t go according to plan. Thanks to La Tondra, 𝐈 𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐩𝐮𝐭 𝐚 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐧 𝐚 𝐩𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐲, identify what is true about the narratives I am telling myself, figure out where the learnings are, and move forward.
🔶 My approach to coaching is focused on 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐦𝐲 𝐜𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬, 𝐠𝐮𝐢𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐩𝐟𝐮𝐥, 𝐧𝐮𝐝𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐚𝐫𝐲, 𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐭, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐥𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐛𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐩𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐭𝐨 𝐠𝐞𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐠𝐨𝐚𝐥 𝐨𝐫 𝐧𝐞𝐱𝐭 𝐥𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐨𝐫.
This is exactly what she did for me over the past year and why I am so grateful for her. To learn more about La Tondra, please visit her website: https://lnkd.in/gy4GYfva
