CORE was proud to participate in the Mile High Lineman's Rodeo and support our three linemen teams and five apprentices that competed! They truly demonstrated the safety, skill and knowledge of line work. ⚡👷♀️
One of our former trainees, Gary, was kind enough to share with us the reasons that he chose Stockton SCITT and why you should too!

This month, we take a closer look at the licensing requirements for barbers in Nevada.
While it takes around 319 days in most states to become a barber -- Nevada stretches that to a whopping 896 days! This is in stark contrast to the more streamlined journeys facing barbers in neighboring states like Arizona, California, Idaho, Oregon, and Utah.
In Oregon, barbers can become licensed in 181 days (and for way less 💵💵💵!).
So, what's going on in the Silver State? Well, Nevada’s barbers must undergo 1,500 hours of training (more than any other state in the region), complete an 18-month apprenticeship, and pass four exams.

Welding is a Great skill to Have..you can go out to a Scrapyard, buy metal to frame an outside multistory balcony or something..build things that last ..capped by a concrete slab..zero maintenance for 20 years..
Yesterday was the first day of a week-long summer camp in Sudbury, Ontario, where participants are unlocking their creativity, learning basic welding techniques, and building awareness about careers in welding and welding-related trades. Thanks to our generous sponsor Bird Construction for making this Mind Over Metal™ camp possible.
#Timber construction, effective use of #ThermalMass, integrating #PassiveVentilation and solar shading... all crucial techniques for addressing the climate crisis, and all evident in our built heritage!
The expert joiners, carpenters, and masons of our Specialist Craft Teams are helping to pass on traditional craft skills to the next generations, so that we can not only continue to look after our historic buildings, but also ensure that this hard-earned technical knowledge can be spread around the wider industry and general public.
Follow this new LinkedIn page to see updates from the teams, and hopefully even learn a thing or two!
📢🎉We’re excited to launch our Heritage Building Craft LinkedIn Page🎉📢
Follow us to see regular updates from our Specialist Craft Teams, find out about the work we are doing to combat the shortage of heritage craft skills, job opportunities and to see information from our partners and external colleagues.
Founded in 2022, our Specialist Craft Centres are a place where heritage crafts skills are championed and knowledge passed down to our teams of enthusiastic apprentices. Among our teams we have a wealth of experienced joiners, carpenters and stone masons. The map below shows where our Specialist craft Centres are based:
At the UN Food Systems Summit Stocktaking Moment last week, the UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres urged the importance of Food Systems Transformation on a global scale. In his remarks to this gathering of world leaders he highlighted that "Transforming food systems requires all hands on deck".
It was great to see so many teachers play their part in this mission by coming to Airfield to learn about sustainable food production, knowing that they will be passing on this important information to the next generation of food consumers, producers and activists.

Education is at the core of Airfield Estate’s mission. One way we carry this out is by welcoming people through our gates for tours and courses. Before breaking for summer, we hosted more than 5,000 school students for some curriculum linked and hands-on learning about food production and biodiversity. We take great pride in how this knowledge can travel beyond the walls of the estate. To help us reach more people, we have just completed Department of Education — Ireland summer CPD courses for some 50 teachers designed to help them develop the practical skills of sustainability and STEM in the classroom through cooking and growing. What better place for them to learn and leave with a better understanding of how food is produced to pass it on to the next generation.

Check out all the #Apprentices in Santa's workshop!!!
You too could have your own set of Elves in your #manufacturing environment
Juniper Training Ltd will support with a Lean Manufacturing apprenticeship and here are 3 things we can learn from the Elves and why you need them.
1. Good Work Habits
Our sole purpose in life doesn’t have to be building or making projects but sticking to a task and being a diligent worker are admirable traits that we admire in the elves.
2. No Project is Too Big
It’s not Santa’s Elves and regular sized people who build the toys, it’s just the elves. That means they must over come challenges in height and size to build their toys. If elves can do it so should we. If a project seems to big physically to handle or you don’t quite have the know how, round up your friends and ask them to help you.
3. Be Efficient
Elves don’t have time to waste and over the years they’ve become very good at their jobs. They plan well and keep waste to a minimum. We even wonder if Santa runs an eco-friendly toy factory? He should!
It was a great event! Glad everyone stayed safe and thank you for allowing MHD to participate!
